Aussies! Check in here!

Afternoon all,

Well the footy regular season is just about over, all done by next weekend. The finals will actually finish in Sept like the old days. And here in Melbourne town next month will be time for the Royal Melbourne Show, might even go this year although these days it seems to be more of a food festival than emphasis on the agricultural part. About the only time city kids get to see farm animals and experience their smells. Have to watchout for those cow patties.

Apparently we are getting some rain in Melbourne town tonight and tomorrow. Will see what that actually means. Got some sprinkles on the car windscreen driving the city centre yesterday but it was more like a kid using a water pistol, although they are probably banned these days. So crazy that NSW is having bushfires in Winter and there is no rain on the horizon for them during Spring.

As for politics well they're back in the gutter again. No wonder the younger generation doesn't trust any form of govt. They can have all the codes of conduct they like in Canberra but it won't change what has now become acceptable speech making just to generate click bate news. Fucking annoyed I still have to pay tax to employ those fuckwits. If voting wasn't compulsory, I wouldn't. Condoning hate speech under the umbrella of "free speech" is not acceptable.

On a happier note I cracked open my 21yr old Scotch last week to take off the chill of the night. It was chilly so a had to have a couple of glasses purely to warm up of course. Purchased a bottle of the new bourbon Gentleman Jack since it was on special this week. Already have a couple of open bottles of bourbon so one must show restraint.

Hope your weekend goes well.
Wonder if we will have the usual debacle of no flights available if a west oz team make the GF. Qantas has maxed out the annual hours on its pilots in some aircraft categories so great to have 747's flying the Sydney-Perth legs again. A few of them ferrying people to Melbourne around the clock might be able to do it if needed. Or borrow some Emirates metal.

Bumper year for rain in the west this year. Farmers are smiling again. The big high pressure system sitting over central and eastern Aust is really pushing our leftover weather down to Tassie and NZ this time around.

The French sorted out the pollies by inventing a new middle of the spectrum centerist party. Our mob fight over the middle quiet zone but pander to the left and right because it makes headlines. Don't complain about SKY and its rise to the top of the muck heap, make your feelings known to advertisers on the same programs and newspaper pages. The media does anything to sell attention and advertising.

A client dropped off a nice bottle of Japanese single malt during the week so might see if there are any takers for that over the weekend. Warm here at 24 so might not be the drop needed, but perhaps the drop wanted.

Well I guess at least you guys get a hot meal when you fly over, we get the usual muffin or cookie if we only fly on the east coast. I remember when I used to fly for business, I'd get the same damn cookie thing flying either to Sydney or Adelaide. Still prefer to fly QANTAS for the leg room but the in-flight service isn't what it used to be. The finals will be interesting.

Recently talked to a friend in Toowoomba regarding the drought in that area which is unusual as is the lack of rain in that part of Qld. Bore water is still being used in some areas. Was interesting to see some farmers stating that they have drought proofed their properties by doing better planning and essentially saying the other farmers are just complaining cause they haven't planned.

Don't watch Sky or Fox news so I only see what gets reported on the free to air channels. Given the online news we get these days all news outlets rely more and more on click bait to get customers. To call Fake News actual News is just nuts like Alternative Facts which are not facts just lies. Rumour is now news and seen as facts. Now that I'm older I understand that journalists can have their own agendas, didn't realise that when I was younger then again when I was in my 20's I couldn't care less about the news.

I still have a bottle of Sake in the back of the cupboard. Purchased that when I going thru my tasting other stuff phase. Kinda like Vodka, I drink that stuff like water, doesn't do much for me.

Afternoon all,

Well Dutton seems to be rallying his troops since Malcolm did the old trick of trying to catch them off guard. I reckon Dutton's crew are just pissed off that they were outsmarted so like all pollies they want revenge. It's like watching a school yard fight. So if the Libs want to shoot themselves in both feet then by all means elect Dutton. It's a case of pissing off all the people all of the time. They would do far better with Julie Bishop, but that would mean putting a woman at the head of the table so that's not happening for the far right.

On happier news I just saw in the junk mail that Dan Murphy's is having a sale (price reduction as they say) on single malt scotch for Father's Day so I should take advantage of that even though I'm not a dad. Like not being in a union that has fought for wage rises for all workers but still getting the benefits.

And other good news, it finally rained properly in Melbourne town although have had a washing machine full of clothes waiting for the wind and rain to fuck off. Still it was nice hear the rain again, plus the early Spring flowers are starting to bloom in the garden.

Has been bloody cold in Melbourne, even had to turn on the heater during the day for a few hours. Just not the weather to be outside, however just the weather to be inside playing video games.

Hope your weekend is good for you.

Happy hump day everyone. I for one am glad it’s all over & I’m over the weather too. Hurry up summer forget spring just let’s jump straight to summer this year.

Hope everyone is doing well & the world is treating everyone right.

Life moves along. Sun is up a bit longer, fine weather gradually replacing cloudy.
Good old Oz slowly imploding on itself once again. I laughed this morning at a few people suggesting that we might have to start up the manufacturing sector...again. I guess football finals seasons can't come quick enough to occupy some minds elsewhere.
Naked beach yoga is a thing and starts up here beginning of September. They have 150 members already but I can imagine the car park and cafe down the road will suddenly have a few new visitors. All good. The West Aussies are having a tilt at regaining the skinny dip record back again from the Irish, so calling all Aussies for a date between Jan to March sometime. 2000+ people needed, so can even call in some of our OS mates to strip off for a good charity cause.

This I why I love this thread. I learn something new here every visit.

Yep the place is going down the gurgler for the next 6 months so you might as well get naked in the sun and say fuck it this summer!

Mmmm sun. As for the naked I’m there just name the time & the place. I don’t
recall the beach at Sorrento being a nudie beach though at least not when I was staying there

Not at Sorrento. Go further south to the 5km between Swanbourne and City Beach South. Warnboro is also legal, but that's heading to the Southern suburbs. Unofficially the 5km between Brighton Peasholm St and Floreat on the dog beach is ok. Rottnest Island other than the three main bays is ok. Port Beach is no longer, nor is Woodmans Point other than the old explosives storage area. North of Yanchep just find an empty beach. A few places near Mandurah in the south.

I do now have an itinerary for my next visit though ;-)

You can add Sunseekers up in the hills if the nude hiking sports swimming etc type nudist village is more your thing. If hanging out nude and talking to people etc is your thing. If you just like swimming then stick to those beaches

With the current implosion in Canberra and the imminent election of Bill and the communists, it just might have to be a summer of beach because nothing else is going to be happening! I wish Albo would just knife Bill in the mayhem and at least make it palatable. I reckon Albo might be secret nudie...

Not sure I want to think of any of our wonderfully gifted pollies naked. I do agree with summer if beach because nothing else will be happening oh except cricket.

I reckon Albo might have knifed Bill but not now after Tonies crew have caused the latest round of mayhem

There's enough mayhem in cricket these days, too!

You'd think after all the recent change of PM mid-term examples that the night of the long knives wouldn't have lasted so many days. Turnbull accepted the push for change but still stared Dutton down and won with his preferred candidate succeeding him. What an incompetent attempted coup that blew up in Dutton's face! He didn't have the numbers and should have known it before he created the chaos which he then used to justify a spill.

The Liberal Party has claimed to be a broad church but they were never very accepting of Turnbull, despite his wealth or because of it, and despite his attempts to appear one of them by not championing the Republic, a market price for emissions trading, or marriage equality.

Interesting fact: At the last election Turnbull admitted to donating $1.75mil to the Liberal's election campaign. He was PM for just 1073 days. He donated the equivalent of $1,630.94 per day of his term. His salary as PM was $527,854 per annum, or $1,446.18 per day. He was paid less than he donated to be PM. A costly exercise. Back to the farm he holds so dear.

That’s interesting isn’t it. The funny thing is that if you look up liberalism it is exactly what Mr Turnbull is. It is so not what Mr Abbott is.

I also thought if Mr Turnbull has spoken every day like he did at his farewell media conference people would have accepted him much more which would have meant a better showing in the polls.

A new PM who Mr Turnbull wanted but he comes from th conservative side so go figure.

Turnbull did a deal with the conservatives like Mattiis “arnie” Cormann to get the job when he rolled Abbott that meant he couldn’t follow his beliefs. Maybe he thought he could talk them around. In the end the desire for the PM position trumped any thought of principle which pretty much sums up his time in the job.

It doesn’t matter who’s in charge now, the coalition is fucked. Abbott made it pretty clear in his comment after the party room meeting that this isn’t over. He doesn’t care if they lose and half the party lose their seat at the next election because he reckons he’ll have a better chance of being opposition leader.

Unless half the labor front bench gets caught in compromising positions with underage girls or boys they are certainties.

At the next election, I will completely blow my vote by drawing pictures of penises on the ballot papers.
It seems fitting, given that a) it won't matter who I vote for, and b) they have all behaved like dicks for the last 8 years.

I don’t think you I’ll be alone. In the end it doesn’t matter anymore if you agree with a policy I think we all would just like them to behave like adults & take the job of government seriously & try try to deliver something to some section of the Australian people & out that idea first. I’m in a safe labor seat so it doesn’t mattter who I vote for but I just winder how many safe seats are not to safe anymore when people start doing donkey votes

Yep me as well. Was going to say "me too" but that's something else these days. I'm in a very safe Labour seat as I found out last election so my vote isn't going to count for much then again I don't get anything from whomever is in govt so in that respect I'm like the younger generation. In the mean time it will be interesting to see how far down the drain hole the Libs will go. All those political nerds must be salivating.

Afternoon all,

Just passing thru on this chilly day. Have had to deploy the blanket to sit here. Have kept warm by cleaning the bathroom, oh yes and coffee.

So ScoMo is now PM which is yet another PM we didn't vote for. Not going to play well for the Libs at the next election. The rules need to change to fix terms otherwise we will continue to get people in jobs we didn't vote for, which is very annoying. And the Libs now get a by-election in Turnbull's seat. Abbott is like the scorpion that stung the tortoise and they both drowned whilst crossing the river.

Had a happy Friday although it was an effort to get dressed and go shopping two days in a row but the end result was a bottle of single malt scotch so that was good and I saved over $30. Since it was Friday afternoon also saw a number of people stocking up for the weekend, mainly wine drinkers. I still have a six pack of beer in the cupboard waiting for the weather to get warmer.

Hopefully some more rain coming our way here in Melbourne town this week. Allows me to keep putting off mowing the grass on these chilly days. Hope the coming work week is good for you, I'll be playing video games :D

That's a bit sexist WQ, why is it always penises? Surely a few vagina's are appropriate afterall a few of the Libs have made a cunt of themselves this week.:D
