yes well it does pay to read the instructions, like they say..."don't piss into the wind"...not just a witty comment, no doubt knowledge gained from experience.

Hope your recovery is swift. Most annoying thing that happened to me in a similar manner was using white oil on the lemon tree when I got hit with a just of wind. Let's just say I didn't appreciate tasting the stuff. Wasn't even a windy day. Needless to say the instructions stated...'don't spray on a windy day,

Morning all,

So Chinese New Year is over, may be now we can get a takeaway. Hey I like a cultural holiday just like the next guy but not being able to get a takeaway for over 3 weeks, that's kinda stretching it. Thankfully the local Vietnamese run fish and chips and pizza joints were open. I also find it kinda funny when white dudes take the day off for Chinese New Year. Even with my Asian heritage I wouldn't try and claim it.

Since it's the year of the Rooster, may your rooster crow for days..ok that was a line from a blues song. And may your crow not snatch any small dogs...no wait that doesn't work.

i did the same thing a few years back,
it is really bad shit , and know how you can feel like shit !
now, even with long sleeves, long pants and a breathing mask, each time i do it, i reckon i can taste the stuff, probably physco-somatic , but that taught me to be over cautious with everyday chemicals. you just never know.

Well Trump...the gift that just keeps on giving or in this case taking back. Certainly feel for that teenager born in Australia who has been banned from the US because of his heritage. Well Trump did promise to make America great(white) again. Next it will be skin and eye colour. He even fired the Acting AG for not enforcing his rules. A country further divided.

Interesting that Trump didn't ban any Muslim countries his company has done business with. Suppose now that the US Customs will add two new questions to their customs forms: a. Can you play the banjo? b. Would you marry your daughter? If the answer is No to either or both, well then...Visa denied. It would also be nice if our leaders spoke out against this blatant racism.

I reckon we should say Trump in Scooby speak "Rump".
On a more positive note, what about Fed winning the Aussie Open, amazing stuff and what a match it was.

Been doing some hacking and slashing in the garden today, no spraying.

I noted whilst travelling down Spencer St (doing 30km/hr) in Melbourne earlier this month that the cops were curb crawling trying to catch drivers on their mobile phones. Some jackass runs over 37 people in the middle of the city, not a cop in sight. People are still in hospital, at least one still critical.

Start of Feb tomorrow so only one more month of heat to go. Feel sorry for those in NSW. Hang in there cool breezes are on the way.

Ah a new month and Telstra is down again. Internet is working but not the phone, we really should invest in pigeons. May be the govt can start a crowd funding page.

Can't wait for broadband, we'll get fucked in so many other ways since both the internet and the phone will be on the one connection. Seems safest to have your internet with one company, the phone with another and the mobile with a third. Now that's progress, previously you only needed one method of communication.

Nice sunny day in Melbourne town, at least the TV still works.

Seems Rump is very angry about those thousands of Aussie illegal immigrants Obama promised to take. Seems he can't tell the difference between a refugee and an immigrant. Nope we don't pay for TV unless you want to connect to the internet then well it depends on your internet package. Everyone has broadband, the NBN is essentially what the US calls cable. If you want to pay extra you can get cable internet now, the NBN connection is free. The major flaw with the NBN is that if the power goes off you lose the phone as well. The argument is that everyone has a mobile so its not a big deal, well not the elderly. It also allows telcos to skimp on infrastructure i.e. there is no redundancy in the system. The safety factor has always been that if you lose power at least you can use your home phone. Given the issues we have had over the last few years it just doesn't pay to have your internet, home phone and mobile with the same provider. If their infrastructure goes down then you lose everything. My home phone didn't work for nearly two days, only got it back yesterday afternoon. That has never happened before. Particularly annoying since I was due to attend a lunch with friends.

Yep Rump is making enemies fast. His spokesperson can't even get Turnbull's name right, keeps calling him Trumbell, just shows a lack of respect and a high degree of ignorance. His own party is sending him some warning signals by leaking details of the phone call to Turnbull. His supporters thinks its great to be isolationists, America first screw everyone else, well we don't live in a world like that.

Well didn't the first game of the AFLW go well, granted some of the skills need work, but was great to watch. The skills will come in time, given a number of the players come from other sports. Can't fault the players for enthusiasm and they put their bodies on the line, no fear. Hope people get behind the new league and they get proper funding to grow the league. Now they just need bigger grounds.

Warm day in Melbourne town. Seems the retailers have forgotten it's still Summer. Went to the local shopping centre hoping to get a portable cooler since they were all sold out in the new year. Nope, not any Summer stuff in sight. Only found a couple of fans. Apparently we're in a different season. So is it Summer, Easter or the start of Autumn?

One of them even tried to shoosh the crowd cause they laughed about what she said. Obviously not used to her opinion being mocked. She picked the wrong forum for that move. Interesting that it was the women on the panel sticking up for Rump.

Nice cool day in Melbourne after all that rain yesterday. Well this Summer in Melbourne can be summed up in one word "humidity". Not high temps like in previous years but just so damn humid. Even the tennis was cooler than in previous years, just more humid and a lot of sweating.

Nope Facebook is immune under some legal media act, dare say he won't try it again. Funny how Foxtel phoned him up demanding he quit streaming it. Probably the first time Foxtel actually talked to a customer, wonder if he could of said.."sorry my phone is busy at the moment, but your call is important to me".

Doubt they will go for the jail option, probably just a monetary payment that the kid can't afford.

Morning all,

Just taking in the cool breezes this morning after yet another humid couple of days, trying to cool down the house. No rain with the cool change so it just takes longer to cool the place down.

Can feel for the folks in SA and NSW. Even the NE part of VIC is still on the hot side. Mildura in that part of the state is also termite country so they are probably loving it.

Lots of discussion about power availability in SA. Another private industry screw up by govt's. Comes about when the customer, in this case the State Govt, doesn't know enough to determine what is needed. Seen this so many times. One must learn to trust the contractor, as we are told so often. Private companies will only work to the contract, they don't have a conscience cause that doesn't make a profit.

Telling people to use less isn't the answer given the fact that we the public have been told to use more technology. Just about everyone has energy hungry devices in their homes cause that's what we have been told to have, so don't blame the public when they use them. Get your shit together State Govt's!

Well my street is back to a construction zone with yet another house being demolished to make way for a larger home. Certainly has been a trend in the area for new owners for the past couple of years.
