Morning all,

Well a new month and the list of things dealt with and requiring attention grows longer. Doesn't take much to think about holidays again.

Just about to finish painting task no. 3, thankfully not too warm although continues to be humid. Apparently the flying insects love the weather. Have some wasps visiting at the moment but attended to those visitors.

Went to see 'The Reverent' at the movies. Leo certainly deserved his Oscar even though I thought the movie was slow at times and was a bit too long. Lots of looking at the scenery but apparently the director likes that. Lots of close ups. Was expecting a bit more action, but still a good movie. Prefer Fury Road for action so not surprised that movie got so many awards.

Not impressed with shopping centres not turning up their air cons on hot days, just sweating a lot walking around. Coolest place was the cinema.

Been listening to the Royal Commission today and clearly Pell demonstrates a lack of understanding of humanity, obviously been in that institute away from the real world for too long. Amazing amount of lack of awareness for someone considered competent.

A quick mooning

Been an age since I've been in the not so sacred realms of Lit. I was scoping for faces, see two .... three "old faces". Waves to WQ, Robe and of course the loquacious but ever erudite, Elfie.

Life goes on slower in these sub tropics but closing in nicely on Autumn. Now the weather is just a low burn, thank goodness. I have actually been looking longingly at real estate in New Zealand. If next summer lines up as this one was, then I shall be indeed crossing the ditch. My unruly curls for a temperate clime....please.

Still wielding that paint brush, Elfie? If that wrist can maintain its' flexibility, I have three rooms and one high outside wall which remain to be painted. I do pay with interest....

I'm hoping to hop in again soon.....or should that be to moon again soon?

Good to see you posting again if only a quickie. Sometimes that's all is needed to reacquaint yourself with the environment. As for the painting yes I have been doing some painting tasks this Summer. Was hoping to do another small painting task this week but the heat and humidity all this week has put an end to that idea. Did enough sweating in the previous two months doing the other painting tasks. However I keep adding more to that list. May not get to all of them this season. Just glad to have the use of my hands again which wasn't the case this time last year. Still not totally out of the woods but am physically more able.

You guys in the north can have your hot humid weather back, I'm certainly sick of it. Just not pleasant to do anything around the house without sweating a lot.

I saw a doco on how more Aussies are going to Kiwi land to live to get away from the fast pace of life in the big cities here. Just have to get used to paying more for stuff in NZ, petrol especially is ridiculously high and even more expensive in the South Island. However NZ certainly is a beautiful country and only one main highway to worry about so getting lost is rather difficult. Loved the South Island the best.

Afternoon all,

Hopefully we aren't all melting in the various parts of the country. Can the person with the hand on the temp and humidity gauge turn the fucking think to Cool, the joke is wearing a little thin. Been out and about the last couple of weeks looking for things getting in and out of a hot car. These modern cars don't need much to heat up.

Went to one of the Masters stores last week to find a replacement mop pad which I couldn't find anywhere else, mind you the staff at Masters couldn't find it either even though they could tell me how many they had in the database and at other branches. Not fucking helpful. However I did discover that not all Woollies stores stock the same items so eventually found what I wanted. A simple task turned into a trek for lost artifacts.

Off interstate next week for a couple of days to see a friend. A delayed birthday dinner. I finally have joined the wheeled bag brigade. Decided I'm getting too old to carry luggage thru and around airports which are just getting bigger.

I continue to find it interesting that doctors recommend that elderly people should head to shopping centres on hot days....only to find that the air con is not adjusted, so they just sit there feeling hotter than if they had stayed home. If the shop assistants in these stores have to have personal fans to keep themselves cool then its way too warm in those places.

Hopefully things cool down everywhere in the next couple of days.

Morning all,

Just got back from a quick trip to Sydney to visit a friend for a couple of days. Was so damn humid but temp wise it was cooler than Melbourne. Came back to a hot blast of northerly winds, thankfully nice and cool yesterday now we're really cool and lots of wet stuff which we haven't had in a long time.

The shop assistants in Sydney were as usual rather unhelpful and frankly not interested in customers. Have come to accept that over the many years going to Sydney. Lots of heavy blasts of rain for those couple of days, thankfully most of it was at night. But did keep things on the cooler side.

Totally forgot the Grand Prix was on this weekend in Melbourne so the flight home was full and a couple of screaming babies. Felt sorry for the mothers dealing with this. Got bumped from my preferred seating on the plane so not impressed with that, think I'll be travelling business in the near future.

Will be watching the Grand Prix tomorrow. Better watching it on TV than at the track. Anyone who has been to Melbourne knows you can drive on the track on a normal day but only at 50km/hr as opposed to the couple of hundred on race day.

Hope everyone's weekend is hassle free.

Thankfully, having been laid recently (first time in nearly a year! ) I am pleased to report that menopause has not interfered in either the physical, or the mental, enjoyment and pervertedness (is that a word?) of my sexcapade!
Symonds Tyrepower Sprint coming up, and I will be there with bells on! It's one of the few V8 tracks where you can see the entire track and follow everything.
I picked up my new glasses today. Absolutely amazing! I can see again! I had no idea just how much I wasn't seeing until now..... Plus, they look sexy as hell

Yep pevertedness is a word, well in here it is. A nipple tug for each year not sure if that will make them hurt or not so may be in sets of ten then.

Yeah when I got my first set of specs it was like seeing things for the first time. Only use them for distance but the short vision seems to need some help now although I keep blaming the small font size used these days.

Well an early Happy Easter. Its past noon so most people should be knocking off work early for the long weekend. For the long term husbands I hope the Easter pussy pays you a visit cause Christmas is a fucking long way away.

Sooo enjoying the cooler weather in Melbourne town this week. This time last week I was sitting at a bus stop with luggage drying up in the heat looking forward to a cold drink and even colder shower.

A thought for those in Brussels impacted by yet another cowardly attack. To call those causing the chaos terrorists is to glorify their action so they're just criminals against humanity. Travel these days is a task rather than a goal but still should be pursued as I intend to do in the coming years. Nothing going to change that.

Hope your Easter is a joyous time.

Afternoon all,

Well Easter is over and we're into a new month with a thankful end to that crazy time. Always happens that it goes on for too long then you get the shock of how much less daylight you have. Like getting bill shock. Daylight savings time is past its usefulness in this modern society. Besides with the number of people on their phones and facebook and twitter, they hardly look up long enough to notice the extra hour of daylight which is false anyway.

Nearly the end of painting season. The weather has certainly turned cooler. Was going to try and do a second small painting task this week but the cooler temps have put an end to that idea.

Well the super funds are taking a hit at the moment and those dabbling on the share market as well. Financial stuff is the flavour of the month with the latest scandal involving people avoiding tax. There is a reason those people and companies remain rich which has very little to do with hard work and enterprise. Clearly an example to the young is that the way you get rich and stay rich is basically cheat the system. Mind you none of those people in these schemes will go to prison or have their assets seized, their lawyers will see to that. Makes a bit of a joke of the govt telling everyone they should pay their taxes.

And who knew that by turning on your lights in Adelaide you're making a guy in China rich. Had to laugh at the Wilson security thing especially since they handle security for the tax office. Well that's what happens when you invite private industry into govt services. The fox ends up guarding the hen house.

As a side note I noticed that the size of the hot cross buns this year was smaller, but only the fruit ones. No doubt the producers were just looking after our waistlines, surely had nothing to do with profits.

Had an absolutely AWESOME weekend at the races. Spent a big majority of each day with erebus motorsport as I arranged for Betty (owner of the team) to get a model car that hadn't been released for general sale yet, and so as a thanks she gave me passes to go on pitlane walks and grid tours. I got to have coffee with Betty and husband each day and learned a LOT about what it takes to keep a V8 team functioning well.
But after it was all over, I came down with a kidney infection on Monday and am now on 2 types of antibiotics, plus painkillers. I feel like I have been kicked in the back

Tassie is beginning cloud seeding a month earlier than usual. Let's hope that it works - our dams are at record low levels. People forget.... Tasmania is the second driest state, behind South Australia! Everyone thinks it rains 364 days a year, but that is simply not true.

Targa Tas begins next week in my area. Let's hope I feel well enough to go to the exhibition day on Sunday - there's going to be a Bugatti Veyron there! I am excited to see one in the flesh!

I hope everyone was sensible with their Easter chocolates! It takes 55 minutes of medium intensity excercise to burn off one mini-egg!!!!

Good to hear that you have been enjoying yourself although not good about the illness, hope you recover soon.

As for Easter chocs well only had the one...the one I purchased last year that is.
Not sure its worth worrying about the exercise duration required for each bit of chocolate consumed, no fun in that. We should be more child like in that regard, just enjoy the moment.

Afternoon all,

Well it was a busy week for me. Spent the front half of the week doing gardening and starting to clean out the garage then doing two painting tasks at once for the second half of the week. Things just hurt now, mainly the back and knees.

Re-discovered stuff in the garage that I forgot about. At least the bench top is visible again, now I just have to clean it up. It's one of those old fashioned solid wood L shaped benchtops, rather indestructible.

Certainly have noticed the lack of daylight in the past couple of weeks. Hoping to do a couple of more painting tasks before the weather turns cold. Won't be long before it's time to fire up the heater again.

Was interested to learn that apps on iPhones send data and pics to companies without the user knowing, so we don't need to worry about the govt looking over your shoulder, your smart phone is already doing it right under your nose.

A welcome to Monanympho, I didn't bring my echo locater with me so can't ping anything, although I thought I had a dolphin somewhere....must be in the garage, but welcome anyway. Just jump in and post stuff.

Well mid-week and the temps are staying on the warmer side so decided to take advantage of that and do some more painting today. Rather annoyed to discover that the number I put back on my letter box is now cracked after doing the painting of the letter box last week so something else to add to the list for Bunnings.

Well the video by the Depps just goes to prove not to allow the wife to do the packing. The poll on the American Today show reckoned the authorities should of thrown the book at the wife, were as we seemed to make a joke of it. Seems the yanks are more supportive of our customs laws than we are. Must have to admit though the video was funny.

Wonder where the third earthquake will hit? Two in one week in two different parts of the world. Somebody is pissed at us humans.

Hope your week is going well, we may even get some rain in Melbourne town then again they predicted that last week and we didn't get anything.

Overheated my baby car (lancer).on Thursday last week Thought it was the thermofan, but the autosparky ruled that out. Turns out it was the thermostat. Decided to do a full radiator flush and replaced hoses while I was at it.
Why is it that men are constantly surprised to find out I can do this stuff myself?

I have spent the past few days putting together stuff for my new business, seeing as I am [apparently] unemployable! At least this way, I can pick and choose my days to work

Everyone needs to do a rain dance..... Tassie needs water asap!

Well the rain dance must have worked cause its been bucketing down since yesterday. Was woken up by the thunderstorm at 2:45am this morning and the heavy rain following. How did I know the time well I glanced at the bedside clock as it felt I had just gone to bed. Hopefully next weekend won't be as wet. Apparently we are in for a higher than normal avg rainfail in the next couple of months so good news on that.

As for the car thing, yep women working on cars is still met with sexism but the only way that will change is more women going into those trades. No reason why that can't happen with the right encouragement.

Sorry to hear you are still not over the health issues its just a time thing as we get older. I've been happily unemployed for two years now but would be nice to have income again. Have to wait till next year so just have to hang on till then.

Afternoon all,

It's a new month and it has been two years since I resigned from the workforce and thus far haven't had any desire to return to that arena again. Life has continued, bills have been continued to be paid and no issues with being able to put food on the table. Have learnt how little you can live on and still live well. We continue to clutter our lives with stuff that we don't really need.

Saw that we are paying $50 Billion on subs, I like the ones with the toasted herb bread, meatballs and jalapenos. With that price tag you reckon we'd get a bottle of Barossa red with each sub. Certainly isn't the first time the govt has paid more to keep local jobs.

Well after a rather dry month the new month has brought lots of rain to Melbourne town and more to come later in the week. So wet day timetables will be enacted. Hopefully Mother's Day next Sunday won't be as wet, taking my mum to Corio for the day which most tourists to Melbourne don't visit.

What on earth is there in Corio that you'd want to take your Mum there to see let alone spend the day there? In my experience, Corio is a great place to bypass. What have I missed?

The rain is a relief. Aside from the wind and the sudden cold snap (20° at 10pm, before the thunderstorm, then it didn't get above 17° all day today) it was a good day to tackle the weeds.
