Aussies! Check in here!

Afternoon all,

Well the Superbowl has been won and lost. Was hoping the Broncos would win but surprised Panthers were nullified so well. Defence or rather D+fence won the day. Was a good tough game. Thought I saw Beyoncé almost fall and I was right but she kept going. Don't really think the crowd cared about the error she can't do any wrong.

Well its painting time for me. Although the start of the week wasn't helping with all that humidity. So far so good the temps are staying below 30 and thus far nothing like previous years. Hopefully it stays that way. Don't really appreciate sweating on the paint.

The St. Kilda Festival is on this coming weekend so more crowds and backpackers will descend on what is for the most part a quiet beach. A place to avoid if driving a car since they close off some of the streets. Annoying if you want to get through that part of the city. However if you're a tourist coming to Melbourne well its a prime spot to visit and try various foods.

Beyoncé and Bruno Mars were awesome by all accounts - Coldplay no so much.
What was Lady GaGa like?

Hope the painting task went well and you didn't suffer too much.

Wow!!!! What car do you drive from East To West? I'd love to do the Nullabor at some stage

I have had a different car each time!
This time I am looking for a van or small truck so I can load up with Mum's stuff and get it over there to her.
Usually I drive from Melb to Ceduna the first day, stop for a few hrs, and then continue straight thro to Perth. This time I might take things a bit slower and take some pics on the way :)

Holy Cow that is a 16 hour first stint of driving!!! What do you do to keep yourself entertained?
Then from Ceduna to Perth is another 20 hours!!!!:eek::eek:

I have done an awful lot of driving in my time.... for some reason I never get tired like some people do.
I tend to go 4-5 hrs, stop and have a snack and a bit of a walkabout, then do it again.
I sing, mostly. It's the only time nobody tells me to shut up!

I'd car pool with you..........it'll be entertaining if nothing else.:D;)

I used to drive Karratha to Perth every 3 months for a shopping day.
Left after work Friday and was back to start work Monday night.

Most of my longer trips are solo.
I did the top end outback alone many years ago.... Gibb River Road, Tanami Track, etc.
So far, I have done the East-West drive 9 times solo, 4 times with a co driver.

Oh, I am far too scary in person for anyone to want to mess with me!

We have Launy's Festivale this weekend. Loads of local craft beers to try :)
But having been to the St Kilda one, I am jealous as fuck.

So for that Launceston Festival I guess its a bunch of guys in checked shirts and beards glaring at a bunch of weekend greenies :D Is there a wave of Gin producers down that way? They seem to be on the rise everywhere.

Well yes the St. Kilda Festival is very popular if only for the food and free music gets even more crowded at night. Slightly annoyed they block off my fav street and I have to battle even more crowds than normal to get to the cake shops.

Yep - thats a trip for a long day, leave Sydney by 5am to miss the trucks and pull up in Adelaide around 10pm. The second pub along in Narrandera has the coldest aircon for a pub lunch if you're crossing the Hay Plain at midday in the middle of summer.

Sure - after 8pm they turn on all the flashing lights in the churches they converted to nightclubs! That and the action isn't in the Hills - the hills are for winery tours by day. By night, after said winery tours, the action is on the coast around the beaches.

Or thats how it worked when I lived there 20 years ago ;)

I've actually been to Narrandera when doing a trip up thru NSW. The old Laser did struggle on that trip but it got me home.

As for the nightlife in Adel well yep, all in one street. Was there for New Year's once. I probably should of stayed down at Victor Harbour where I had attracted some of the local females. Liked Glenelg although coming from Melbourne the local tram wasn't much of an attraction. We got rid of that model due to safety issues even though they were fun to ride on as a kid. Liked the cake shop in Hahndorf especially the bee sting cakes. Have tried them in other places but nothing as good as what I tasted there.

My bad..

People are constantly taking about how hot it is, but it is the hottest month (usually), in Perth in Summer........what did they expect? ha ha

Well yes I guess I should consider the fact you haven't seen the sun for a majority of your life so that big yellow thing in the sky must still be a new attraction :D

....and I am liking it.........hugely!! Ha ha ha

Hope you are well My Friend

If I like you, I am generous, giving, thoughtful.
If I don't like you, I can be extremely acid.
If I'm nervous or afraid of you, I become like a cornered feral cat - fight to the death!
:)

So what kinda response would I get from you? :)

Yep I'm good although not enjoying the humidity whilst doing tasks around the house. Onto painting task number two this weekend now that I have more supplies. I reckon they should have golf carts to get around Bunnings. Rather annoying when you can't get replacement attachments to equipment. Have the handle but nothing to fit onto to it cause they don't stock those replacements anymore.

Hope your week wasn't too much of a hassle.

Afternoon all,

Well only another week to go till the end of another month and most of the TV shows are back again. Still waiting for Vikings to start again. Didn't realise the lead was an Aussie till I saw one of his earlier movies.

What a strange Summer it has been in Melbourne town. Not the usual high temps in Feb but long stretches of humidity instead, just sweating a lot doing anything physical. We need more rain.

Well the local council came around and did their tree pruning in the neighbourhood although they had already been to my place a couple of weeks ago, so instead of doing the job properly the first time it was take two. That's the rates in action.

A shout out to that charity that is Kanye, poor guy isn't making enough money from his businesses may be his fans should run a chook raffle or a bingo night. Obviously the wife is keeping her money to herself. I mean shoes do cost a lot.

Hope the weekend is relaxing for everyone.
