Aussies! Check in here!

Afternoon all,

Well the new month and Windows 10 is here and free unless you're still on XP or Vista...a step up from Win 8.1 I believe, funny how all is forgotten by correcting a bad idea. So I'm currently making sure everything is backed up properly and creating a restore point if it all turns to crap.

No change to the weather still cold, windy and wet at times. 32 in Darwin...so I guess they must be feeling the cold. Saw that Tassie got some snow in the cities and kids got the day of school. It doesn't even snow in London at Christmas.

Hope you're week isn't too much of a pain in the butt, but the good news is its only 4 months till Christmas and just to cheer everyone up the council rates have arrived. Once a year they use recycled paper envelopes to suggest they are concerned about the environment.

Sorry to all the wintered Aussies... I'm about to head off on a rafting trip. The time forecast says sunny skies with temps between 25-40 degrees. I will miss you.

Make sure your current programs will continue to run on 10. My anti virus for example is not yet compatible so it isn't time for me to upgrade yet.

I'm escaping on Saturday to Thailand for 2 weeks. Heaven awaits

Yeah...we had snow. Bloody cold stuff!
More predicted for tomorrow.

Luckily (?) I don't have to go out in it much because of the 3 HUGE assignments I got in week 2 of school

Celebrating as Immigration have finally granted me my Graduation Visa, so I am afraid Australia is stuck with me for another 18 months at least :D

Well this morning i nearly had to have a hot shower as the overnight dipped below 20 brrrrrr:D

You're in school Queenie? Studying what?

I've finally gone back to what I wanted to do all along (before kids, mortgage, etc got in the way!)... vet nursing.
Doing my prelim this semester, Cert ll in Animal Studies. Then hopefully off to Uni next year - unless I can convert this cert into a job :)

Yep Dave,

I'm guessing I'll have to update to new drivers for some stuff. Already had the issue of previous programs not working when going to Win 7 with the new PC so I'm waiting to see what doesn't work this time around. Already onto the antivirus compatibility, need to upgrade this month anyway. Heard that some people who pre-ordered Win 10 got scammed via email. Been doing backups and creating a restore point this week. Better safe than sorry.

Was watching the NBC morning show and one of the breakfast panel mentioned that its warm enough in New York to smell the pee on some of the streets. Mind you had the same experience in Sydney a few years ago. Like New York better though.

That should stir up the natives :D

Well done Dom! Soak up as much sun as you can, just don't get on a boat.

Evening all,

Well another butt freezing day in the south and just enough rain to piss you off when putting out the bins.

Speaking of visas...I didn't know you can buy a citizenship if you invest in the Australia. So if you're rich you don't have to wait in line under due process. Maybe we should have casinos at immigration points around the country. Think of the gaming taxes the govt could get. Obviously wouldn't apply if you come by boat...they can only get a scratchy but they get processed at sea rather than the inconvenience of waiting onshore and get a bottle of water, all gst free.

Well dare I say it the next test match is up tonight, all or nothing. Hopefully goes to the fifth test for a decider.

If that was the case, I would have no chance!!! I would lose a bet against myself!!!

Honestly  I don't get what all the fuss is about.
It's a game, people!
You're not supposed to analyse it to the n'th degree and be all emotionally devastated if your team doesn't win.
You're supposed to have fun, either playing or watching, and then go have a beer together afterwards.
