So.... only a couple more days till I'm on the ferry. Spent most of yeaterday loading the car. It's full to the roof and even the coffin-rack has stuff on it!
Now it's just a matter of fine-tuning the packing and getting the last few bits in.

I'm actually getting a bit excited about the move now :)

I've found us a little place down by the beach :)

Yes - they have a beach here in the middle of inlandnowhere! It's on the river, real sand and everything!
I'll take a pic tomorrow and put it up.

Kinda freaky.... having a real beach on a river!
But very welcome as we're stuck here for another day while the diff gets changed out on the car and the temp climbs quickly toward 40 degrees!

This is a different kind of sand..... very sharp and rough. Not like beach sand at all.
The temp is climbing, but the river is freezing. Every half hour I brave the water, get soaked and then go back up to the shade and let the breeze cool me down.

Today - surprise, surprise! - another scorcher at 40 degrees..... I spent most of the afternoon sipping ice-cold Boags Draught between dupping in the chilly Murrumbidgee and sitting under a huge gum tree :)
 
So - I'm officially a Queenslander.
Arrived late Fri, and have already unpacked the stuff the car was loaded with and worked Sat and Sun. I'm taking a couple of days off now to sort things like mail and lisences, etc.
Plus the kidley needs to transfer his learners permit asap..... got to get his hours up so he can get a 'P' and drive himself to work and back.
Loads to organise yet!
 
Enjoy the Northern parts, as we enjoy the northern parts of those around us.
When they get humid and sweaty, remember us, for visiting the Southern Parts is also still fun :)

Well it would be active except that we're all really slack lately... someone should drum up a bit of life with some gratuitous nudity. Though we'll have to be quick before the rush of witty posts devolve into sports updates.

Hey no dissing the weather, it's important stuff... is it sad that I'm saving up my pennies to buy myself a lovely home system that will let me connect with my phone wherever I am for up to the minute details? Yes I have control issues.

Oh and for anyone following... today's forecast is overly warm and overly dry with a healthy dose of clouds pretending they know how to rain.

And yes I did have a serve of sarcasm with my cornflakes this morning. Still hanging out in Perth RM? Guessing you're more than ready to go home by now?
