I submitted a story, Dollhouse Wedding. I submitted the text, and I posted the audio to your server. I put it up there two or three weeks ago.

It's just been sitting in the queue, not approved, not rejected.

Can anybody help me out? Is there something more I need to do?

For starters I don't think you posted this in the right forum, but I don't know which one it should be in instead either. I never write stories (and I hardly ever read one too, sorry 'guys') but I assume this needs to be asked in one of the story / authors forums or so.

Someone else will come in and redirect you properly is my guess.
Have seen similar questions though, and know that sometimes it just takes a while. The editors are all people with busy lives too you know; it's not like it's their job (as far as I know).

Good luck with your story!

In my experience Audio stories take longer to get posted than normal ones - you could possibly PM Laurel with a question about it, since she's the one that adds stories.

If I were you I'd wait a little longer though. Just a little. If nothing happens in another couple weeks, go ahead and inquire. But have a little patience for the extremely busy staff.

I've submitted Text with Audio stories, so I have a little knowledge in this subjects.

The key you may be missing is properly labeling of both the audio and the story. You need to clearly identify that they are linked together.

My audio stories didn't actually take much longer than any written stories I've done.

If you're still confused, I'd suggest PMing Laurel, she was most helpful when I had questions about the Text with Audio category. :)

Hey there, here's the little I know from the few times I've posted audios. (i might add wayyy too much info but you never know who might be reading and frankly... its late and I'm bored)

Firstly..YAY! :) you wrote and recorded an audio story! We need more on the site...!

Secondly, audios usually get posted on the Sunday night/Monday mornings, so usually if your story's not up when they do an update then you've got another week to wait.

Thirdly, saying that, audios don't even get posted every week.

Fourthly, like bisexplicit said, and she should know, she's got some incredible audios up, the way you link the two versions, text and audio when you submit is very important.

Here's the best way...

Go here to submit your file by uploading. Remember in the "write a commment" section to put in the title that you're going to use for the story.

Uploading..this can be a tricky process...remember not to close the uploading page..cos it don't like dat. keep it open until you get the page that says file transfer successful and then something weird about an email being sent to the desginated user. I assume this is just to confuse people, much like my last two sentences. ahem.
Also remember to put your Lit user id and email address in the box where it "who are these files from?"

Now onto the submitting part, submit your text as per usual (best way, pasting it into the text box in the submit page), remember to put category as text with audio, and the title...must be title you used when you uploaded (lol learnt this the hard way)

In the NOTES section, write to say you've uploaded the "insert filename".

Remember to choose vote and comments options so i can come on to gush about how good your story is! :D

Press SUBMIT!

voila...story SHOULD be up the following monday :nana: ...(i'm good with famous last words)

If not...and there's no answer in the status box (like approved, pending, rejected and reason) then it's probably just in a queue, freezing it's butt off in a line with the other audio stories waiting to get posted. If you're not sure if they received it, PM Laurel, instead of waiting for weeks on end and cursing the site for kidnapping your story :catroar: )

Once you've posted a few times and they're used to you, you can accidently leave off details like your email address and just put your id, or forget to say what submission its for, but generally, for peace of mind just fill in all the relevent info...i mean what else is there to do but write stories and wallow around in the forums until they get put up right :p

Good luck!! and I can't wait to see your story up!!!
