Hi Everyone....

As I do every once and awhile, i googled my story titles. And guess what I found. Some bitch on strapon-story.com stole chapter 3 of Wesley's Woman and posted it as her own. I have contacted her and Laurel, but you all might want to google your story titles just to be sure.

Of course, I find it stupid that she neglected to steal the other 4 chapters of the story.

DN

they change titles and stuff.

Put in a sentence with a weird string of words and google the sentence regularly.

the website is strapon-stories.com and ww chapter 3 is the only one that features use of a strap on...hence why it seems to have been the only one featured.

However...I do want to note that their home page doesn't give me a clue as to how to contact the submissions people over there. I have sent a strongly worded email calling her a liar and demanding that she remove the story.

Stolen Story!!

I'm so glad you said something about this; I just found one of my stories on another site!

I sent them a nasty email which began -

webmaster@sexie.nl

The story "Who is the Master?" is the personal property of "sweetsubsarahh" and is currently being displayed on the site Literotica.org. . . . Remove MY story immediately . . .

"sexie.nl" is an international site but the stories have been translated into English. They didn't even bother to change the title! Assholes!!!

I PM'd Laurel about it - but I don't know where to go from here.

You may want to check out this site - they do have a few stories - all in English - and it makes me wonder where they got them!!

sexie.nl

I just joined their new Bulletin Board this morning - lol - to post a thread about their stolen stories! We'll see where that gets me!!

A friend of mine recommends two steps. First, email the webmaster for the site and explain the situation. Provide a link back to your story here to provide support for what you are saying. Be polite, but direct that you expect the story to be removed in a reasonable time frame (several days is what I was told to state).

After the time period, email the server operator/isp of the server the website is running from. Forward a copy of the email you sent the webmaster previously. State in your email that you will have your lawyer contact them if the webmaster has not removed the story within 48 hours. State that the webmaster is violating copyright protection laws and you will seek recourse and restitution for damages and expenses. The server operator/isp will probably shut down the webmaster until things are corrected.

It has been my friend's experience that the webmaster will remove it promptly. You don't have to be ugly in the email either. In many cases, if the story was submitted to them, they were probably unaware it was your story. They don't want the legal problems that your story can cause them. The international copyright laws/agreements will work for you.

Sweetsubsarahh, as the site is Located in Holland (Netherlands) you could persue them for infringing your copyright, it may be worth your while sending them an e-mail saying that you intend to consult an attorney with a view to taking action unless they -

(1) Remove the story.

(2) Publish an apology to you for infringing your copyright and aknowledging your ownership of that story.

The problem with the next step is that you would have to make a decision - because to take further action would mean revealing your real identity - you cannot hide behind the masque of a nom-de-plume if you went on to take action.

Excellent advice - thank you. Since I only discovered this last evening (after midnight our time - lol) I was naturally a bit perturbed! I wasn't too nasty, I think - just direct.

I'll give them a day or two and then I'll send another email with the link and the possible legal action.

Thank you! :)

jon - thank you. Yes, the "unmasking" of sweetsub - lol - I don't know if I want to go there just yet!! (Is it some coincidence that Zorro is on just now . . . ???) :p

It really bothers me that the "author's" name isn't available on the site - I can't even tell WHO did the theft. I thought it was the administrator's of the site, actually.

I will give them a day or two to fix things. Then - we'll see what's next.

The upside, if there is one, is that they thought your story was good enough to steal. Nobody ever stole any of mine!

Sorry about the harsh reality of the "unmasking" bit.

Do not concern yourself with who posted the story - the Website have "published" it and therefore they have a responsibility to ensure they are not involved in a theft - plagerism is theft. Once you pointed out your copyrights, that duty to you kicked in (or at least they had a duty to verify your claims) - I assume that you included the url of your story in the e-mail, so they could reference it.

If they do not remove the story from their site in the timeframe you listed to them, just send them another e-mail telling them that their site has been posted to several groups of writers who write this type of stories and have been listed as a do not post your stories there as they are thieves site.

People have blacklisted your site and that will harm your readers and those people who post to your site as people will not come to your site to read or to post. You heard of wrong one person and lose ten people more. For we have already spread the word about how your site post stolen stories and not taking them down once they have been found to be posted there. Please take down the stories that are posted as you see those stories belong to me and by taking them without my permission you have walked on my copyright of those stories.

That should make them realize if they want people to come to their site and read the stories that are posted there, they'll listen and do what's right.

LOL!

Un-reg - you little shit, you!! ;)

In my humble opinion, it isn't my best! (actually - it's my lowest "scoring" story on this site - if that means anything - )

Solaris - thank you, and you're right. They could end up shooting themselves in the foot if they don't quickly do the right thing.

I have a feeling the threat of legal action would work better, though! LOL :D

the prob with the strapon site is that there is no "webmaster" that I could find to figure out, since it seems to be thru a usenet site. Subsarah...you pm box is full :) I wanted to email you to ask you to let me know if you find out anything more.

thanks
DN

I just emptied some stuff from my mailbox, DN. (sorry!)

Umma's list is quite extensive and I think includes more Lit author's works. Also, she posted EVERYTHING on October 20 - all her stories. This is ridiculous!!

I did just review yours and my two stories on the site. Gave us 5's - LOL - and then included the info - Great story, isn't it? I should know, I wrote it! (and I gave you credit for yours) I included the link to Literotica, and the information that we were going to pursue legal action against her if she didn't remove the stories! It made me laugh anyway, and anyone who reads our stories will find that review.

So you emailed umma? My letter to her was NOT nice - lol. I can't find a webmaster either - but I'm still searching. Have hope. We'll see what happens.

you kick ass subsarah :)

good idea...i think I'll email her again too

interesting side note...i tried to register as an author, and the site wouldn't let me.

Thanks!

I registered as an author - hmm - I wonder why it wouldn't let you? (it only took sweetsarah though - no more letters - could that have been the reason?)

We'll get her, and we'll destroy her credibility enough (at least on that site) that they won't believe anything she posts.

Yea us!!!!! :D
