I know nothing about witchcraft - except what i've seen on "Charmed" :p

I sell fashion jewellery and keep being asked for wiccan stuff - i have no idea what they mean but i'll do my best.

can anybody tell what i should get?

i know some people can get a bit precious about this kind of stuff, so dont go off at me!

Who would want to kick your arse? (or ass).

One of the AH regulars is a Wiccan but I don't remember who.

She's full o'shit.

Not knowing what type of jewellry you sell, I don't know what to recommend, but charms you could offer might be; Pentacles (if you feel comfortable with them) Other designs that have meaning are the triskelion, the Labyrinth, goddess figures, the Hammer of Thor

Images of Owls, Cats, Bees, the Moon, are good. If you sell semiprecious gems, the main ones are; Amber, Jet, Moonstone, (combinations of those first three are really powerful) fluorite, and green stones like Bloodstone, green jasper, Adventurine, and Jade-- and don't forget your basic Quartz Crystals...

Stella pretty much covered it. Some wonderful charms I've seen as well are tiny cauldrons, brooms, Holly and Oak leaves, ravens, serpents, Egyptian emblems like Ankhs, scarabs, an eye of Horus.

Oh, that's different! Go here:
Witchvox

The basic idea behind paganism/wicca is that of old religions that celebrate many different faces of the divine, most especially the feminine, the goddess. These are reflected in nature. Most especially the moon which = The goddess.

What else do you need to know? Maybe some questions will help us out in giving you what you need.

Uh-oh, you know not what box of chaos you are opening! :D
Jet, Amber together are considered powerful because they are both organic substances. Jet plus moonstone represents the moon in the night sky... The three together make the "red/white/black" combination of Hecate, or the Morrigan-- the "mother/maiden/crone" triple goddess. My own necklace has Labradorite instead of moonstone.

Green stones represent earth's bounty, prosperity, money. Black stones "soak up" bad energy, white stones reflect it. Garnets are the first chackra-- genitals. Blue stones are good for athsma and also for the power of speech... It goes on, and on...

Pentacle is everything. It symbolizes the 4 elements + 1: that's air, fire, water, earth and spirit. The pentacle is the emblem for wicca (witchcraft); yes, it protects, but it does a lot more. Let's just say that it symbolizes *magic*.

moon goddess i dont get
What exactly don't you get? The reason why the goddess is represented by the moon? Here's one reason: The goddess has three faces: maiden, mother and crone. The moon reflects these: waxing crescent (maiden), full (mother) and waning crescent (crone).

This is a triskelion; http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/07/Triskele-Symbol-spiral-five-thirds-turns.svg/150px-Triskele-Symbol-spiral-five-thirds-turns.svg.png
There are lots of versions. They are all of them associated with the Triple Goddess (at least, in Wiccan symbology)

The Pentacle stands for the four elements-- earth, Air, Fire, Water-- plus the Fifth Element, the soul. yep, just like the movie! Make sure your pentacles have one point UP, not down. Different meaning entirely. They can be used for protection, but so can almost any symbol. Wicca likes a good symbol!

The Moon is the primary symbol of the Wiccan Goddess-- but not, exactly, the goddess herself. The Sun represents the God.

More questions? :D

Aquamarine is a good one-- it represents the Moon, and the element water.
Tourmaline is Happiness, joy, contented heart.
Moonstone is the moon, emotions.
Red coral is sexy; Aphrodite, Venus, and the egyptian goddess Hathor all are represented by red coral.
Turquoise is the unfettering of the mind, letting go of sorrow, the opening door. Howlite, I don't use much.
Amethyst is a big favorite; the color purple is the color of magic, more or less, in people's minds. The seventh Chackra, the mind, is purple. Amethyst is the healer, calming, sharpens the intellect, enhances empathy... all things to all people!

(I spent ten years with a landlady who is an ordained Wiccan priestess-- and a real know-it-all-- I got taught everything, whether I wanted it or not!)

Kind of like three loops? They still symbolise the triple goddess, basically.

Plus, a lot of stuff just looks like it should mean something...

Listen, here is what you really need to know:

There is no Bible for Pagans. They go for ancient religions that they are drawn to, ancient gods that speak to them personally. Some wiccans/pagans are drawn to Egyptian gods/goddess, some to Greek gods/goddess, some to Hindu, some to Norse gods/goddess (men are very drawn to this and so you might want male jewelry that reflects this), MOST go for Celtic gods/goddess.

So what you need to research is symbols, emblems and animal "familiars" common to such gods/goddess. This covers most of the research. You can say, "That's the raven of Morrigan, the warrior goddess of Celtic mythology..." or "That's the Ankh of Egypt, emblematic of eternal life," or "That's Diana's bow and arrow, symbol of the huntress, of the crescent moon."

Research the gods/goddess of Egypt, Greece, Norse, Hindu and most of all, Celtic. Research the Druids. Research into Wicca cannot give you nearly as much information on what the jewelry means as research into the mythology. Yes, you need to know what pentacles and the moon means, but almost everything else is tied to mythology. Know the mythology, and you'll be able to tell your customers what's what.

things like Mjolnir and the triskelion are good. Also, the Valknut and the Sun cross and the Irminsul.

yeah 3 loops - like a 3 sided pentacle

i'll just put "goddes symbol" on them - only a small amount of bullshit required ;)

Oh, and after you've done some mythology research...if you really want to go the extra mile, do a little research on Astrology and tarot cards ;)

As for the magic and meanings of gemstones, Stella seems to be your best resource there, but here's an alternate site which covers just about every stone you can think of:
