Israeli Foreign Secretary Shimon Peres has come right out and denounced the Government for labelling the Palestinian Authority as a "terror-supporting entity".
What's needed on both sides are more people like Peres who can work together towards a solution. Not the Sharons and Arafats of this world.
Peres has gone a step further by saying that he knows there are more people of his Party who want to leave the Coalition Government but he's not sure how many. He reckons a decision will be made within the next few days.
It could all be political posturing but it does show the rest of the world that the Israeli Government is not acting with one voice.
Today they bombed offices where Arafat works and where he was at the time. They then told the press it's not their intention to kill him! Funny old language innit!
The only immediate reaction I can see to this latest phase of violence is that Israel will be visited by more suicide bombers in the near future. Israel has tried time and time again to solve the problem with its military might and time and time again all it''s done is make matters worse.
At least if more voices like Peres begin to get heard maybe it will force Sharon to act accordingly. After all he wants to keep political power I presume...
