The Wikileaker is reportedly about to get kicked out of his moms, I mean the Equador embassy's, basement.

Huh. Wonder who'll get to him first.

So you "Americans?" are opposed to truth from whistleblowers via Wiki-leaks? Be aware that Obama aggressively prosecuted whistleblowers. That's why they have to go to Julian Assange.

So am I inferring that you view him differently than most Massmedia who hail him a hero? I bought for many years into that narrative, but now I'm confused.

I would be v. interested in hearing your views on both Snowden and Assange.

Snowden took Massmedia and most Western public by storm, for many years he was described as a true American hero for exposing the US's "deep state"'s spying on it's own citizens and allies.

But then he took asylum in Russia with all those documents, and started disclosing unilaterally how the US spies on other countries (but not how other countries spy on the US). Which seemed kind of treason, you don't expose your country's intel.

Such odd events. Whom did Snowden collaborate with (from within the US intelligence) and what was their link to Russia?

Simple.
British arrest him.
He gets deported to Sweden.

At no point was this ever going to change, unless the lawyers agree different...

Oh and apparently his limited space/lack of light/subsequent mental and physical health problems are my fault (as a person living in this country... I love his early work but he's now a stuck record and a Pillock !

Sweden is no longer seeking his extradition.

According to Glenn Grunwald:

read:https://theintercept.com/2018/07/21...-and-hand-him-over-to-the-uk-what-comes-next/

"The far more important question that will determine Assange’s future is what the U.S. Government intends to do.

The U.S. Justice Department has never wanted to indict and prosecute anyone for the crime of publishing such material, contenting themselves instead to prosecuting the government sources who leak it. Their reluctance has been due to two reasons: (...)....

But the Trump administration has made clear that they have no such concerns. Quite the contrary: last April, Trump’s then-CIA Director Mike Pompeo (...)
...Trump’s Attorney General Jeff Sessions has similarly vowed not only to continue and expand the Obama DOJ’s crackdown on sources, but also to consider the prosecution of media outlets that publish classified information.

During the Obama years, it was a mainstream view among media outlets that prosecuting Assange would be a serious danger to press freedoms. But there seems little question that, as Sessions surely knows, large numbers of U.S. journalists – along with many, perhaps most, Democrats – would actually support the Trump DOJ in prosecuting Assange for publishing documents."

WikiLeaks has told truths that we would otherwise never have known.

Your intent seems to be simply to spam political threads and destroy any potentially constructive discussion. Not unlike Luk and the StainMann alts.

Your perception is off target. Please, constructively discuss. My main purpose on these threads (and it's been about 3 days) has been to counter the obscene pleading for someone to murder the President. There were even some who said they themselves wanted to murder, shoot, kill the President. For the time being those insane threats have diminished. I may become less interested in contributing here.

However, if I know my presence here bothers you in any way; I may be inclined to stay.

My sincere apologies. The only reason he's there is for skipping bail. Hardly a major crime in this country!

Oh I also read he 'fears' being extradited to US. So it's trumps fault.

He's still a prick

I pretty much think he's a prick too, actually, but whether or not skipping bail is serious depends on the charges he was bailed for. In his case the charges were sexual assault and rape. Kinda serious.

Assange's reasons for asking for asylum in the Ecuadorian embassy were that he feared that he would be extradited from Sweden to the US. Sweden insisted that they'd received no such demand from the US, but who knows what would have happened back in 2012, when he hid in the embassy.

Considering Trump's apparent "love" of Wikileaks, maybe Assange's gamble has paid off?

Trump mentioned Wikileaks 141 times in last month of election

We know shithead.

Scuttle off to a bizzybooby thread and giggle with your fellow idiot.

If he gets pushed out he probably shouldn't drink anything he hasn't personally made. He might get a bad case of polonium overdose.

He also shouldn't go out at night alone. He might get lead poisoning.

Also, might want to start wearing gloves when he opens his door. Odd things happen to fall on door knobs nowadays.

You mean all of the things Manafort has to worry about if he ever gets out of the slammer.

So if someone steals your email and publishes it all, you're OK with that?

I struggle to fully understand the Wikileaks phenomenon.

On one hand, all if not most of the published information posted clearly targeted only two superpowers while sparing the other ones. And Assange's latest interference in the Catalan-Spain conflict was clearly biased.
On the other hand, at least half of the information posted by Wikileaks helped the public from those two countries, by exposing corruption or totalitarian acts.
