everyonce in awhile like hmm. where your ass crack meets your lowerback, in there i have like a dot that seems to bleed when i wipe my ass or something, and sometimes thers like almost like lint shit in there. what the fuck is this? lol

If you have a very hairy back in particular, you may have something called a pilonidal cyst. Have your family doc check it out. It can be excised in his office. It's no big deal. It's not uncommon in men with a fair amount of body hair.

PSA from one of your local RNs.

i have had one and i let it get out of hand. it looked like i had a golf ball under my skin at the top of my ass crack. as for as the hair, i don't have any one my back so you can't go by that. i will say that you should go get it checked out and let the doc take care of it. all he will do is drain it and pack it with some packing. it really is not that bad.

Is it kind of like toe jam, only ass jam? I'm not sure that there is a connection between the bump and the fuzz.

If it is a pilonidal cyst, there would be an incredible amount of pain and swelling involved - especially if it is infected.

I fought one for 5 years. It was a chronic infection that would act up about once a month. It swells, gets painful, then "pops" and drains. Might be a one time only thing, or it might be recurring. Some docs think it starts from an ingrown hair (personally, I think this is not likely), others think it could be genetic (my father also had the same thing and his got infected at the same age), and still others think it stems from a jarring of that region. It used to be called "Jeep's disease" as so many soldiers used to get it and it was figured that the bumping and bouncing in a Jeep contributed to it. (I had a pickup truck at the time mine decided to make itself known)

Truth is, I found very few docs that knew what they were talking about, really, but you should have it checked out. Your best bet is have the thing lanced. Not exactly painfree, but a whole lot less painful than surgery. If your doc says it is a pilonidal cyst and wants to use antibiotics first, refuse. They simply don't work, and you might be in even more discomfort. If you have a cyst, ask to have it lanced. When I finally had mine lanced, it went away and never came back.

Do be careful that you are not aggravating the area. What can be especially bad is the tendency of drivers to push their seats way back and almost drive their cars lying down. This puts a tremendous amount of pressure on that area of the spine, and even though it might be a car and not a truck, it can be enough to cause irritation.

Good luck!

I had one too, Chele. It got infected when I was about 20, and the doc had to open it up or something. Hurt like all hell, and I had to soak it ini the tub for about a week. I've kept the area religiously clean ever since, and never had a recurrence.

My ex-wife had this problem and battled it for many years. I would flare up twice a year or so and she would be very uncomfortable until it would burst. Once that happened she would be ok a few days later and the cycle would start again. She went to see the Dr. and had to have surgery for it. Only problem she had was the way in which see was healing, from the outside in. If the Dr let the continue to heal that way she would have had a void there and major problem so we had to have it packed and change the packing twice a day. I have dealt with many blood and guts situations in the ambulance but this was no fun at all. Once she got healed up she never had a problem again.

Words of advice have it checked out. Better safe than sorry.

I have one
it's no fun

Rush Linbaugh had one, it was his excuse for staying out of Vietnam
