Very very scary to me... the thought that if something went slightly wrong that I might be facing a Homicide rap would be enough for me to say no thanks...

Somehow I did not catch in the beginning of this thread that you tried it without being into it totally and it was your boyfriend's idea...Just make sure why he wants to try this and I hope he never gets too rough with you while having pressure on your neck, you really don't get a second chance at that you know. Just be careful.
