When you read the stories that we have here, what turns you on more? The description of what the other person is doing to the woman or what the woman is supposedly feeling at that time?

I asked another question a few weeks ago and a point was made about this that I overlooked. My goal is to write a story in such a way that the women reading it would get extremely aroused while reading it, which is one of my biggest turn-ons, knowing that I can please a girl. If you're wondering what gender the other character is, it's a guy. Regular guy-girl sex.

Passion, lust, connection, sexual frenzy. This is what makes a good erotic story for me, it's what makes me hot and wet and really everything else is window dressing.

I enjoy stories from both female and male POV or from a neutral narrator POV and I'm not so fussy about grammar, spelling etc...as long as it's readable and not in txt spk *L*

So from there it's the feelings, emotions and actions of all participants, male, female or alien that matters. So yeah...is that any help?

probably not *LOL*

Um... both?

What's happening to her is a MAJOR part for me!!!! She also needs to enjoy what's being done, unless it's in the non-consent.

Even then, it's nice to read that she gets off.

Um -- it's all in the presentation. She could be getting her toenails painted and I'd get turned on if it was written well. So, I guess it's not the WHAT but the HOW that determines my level of excitement. The recipe does not hinge on the ingredients, but in how they're stirred together.

If I knew the answer I'd need Viagra.

There is nothing that turns ALL ladies on. They are individuals with individual tastes, preferences, kinks, desires, fantasies and dreams.

What would read as exciting and arousing for one could leave another totally unmoved or even disgusted.

If you can please some of your readers some of the time then that is as much as an author has a right to expect. Some of us can please a wider audience than others. Some of us have a limited audience that is appreciative. Trial and error is really the only way to build your audience and your technique. Experimenting can lose some of the readers and attract a different group or fail and piss everybody off.

The easiest way to find out what is pleasing and arousing to many is to read the top rated stories in each category. Whether those ratings have been given by men or women is irrelevant. How can you tell? The stories that really get votes tend to appeal to the widest readership.

Just wanted to agree, if the story's well-written, whether it's a male or female POV doesn't matter to me. I've enjoyed reading and writing from both POVs.

Wow, that was actually an interesting question. Not a comment on you, don't know you, just on the general environs of the forum lately, for me anyway.

I was recently aroused by something I read, so I had something to work with here, haha. In reading about, or involved in a sex scene, it's always what the bloke does, says or looks like that sets and gets my petite pulse off. If I can catch the lust and desire of the male character through whatever the author's written, I'm off, and off. In reality, depending on the man and his voice, a simple "Fuck me" will do.

My story here on Lit was written with two specific women in mind, so I just put in things that they both enjoyed. One liked being bitten, the other wanted to be taken standing up. Both very common desires, but their SO's refused to even try it. I have no idea why they wouldn't. It seems like such a small thing to ask. (Really, it seems like nothing that even needed to be asked.) What I found out after I posted my story and got some feedback is that the things those women liked struck a chord with a lot of women. I took a lot of pride in the feedback I got where they thought I was woman because of how it is written. My male character is powerful and confident, but not overbearing. And I intentionally stayed away from describing breast and penis size. I did get some flack about that from a few people. A guy wrote me complaining that he couldn't get into the story because I didn't say how big the woman's tits were. I just wrote back and said, "How big do you want them to be?"

That said, not every woman is going to like the same thing. I hit a broad swath of the spectrum of the female audience, but as you can tell from the variety here on Lit, there is a lot of room left on either end of the middle.

Boota...for me the mention of breast or penis size is an immediate click back offence. I hate it...but your story sounds interesting....*off to peruse right now*

I've come to the gradual conclusion that sex is sexy because of what it says about a person's emotions. In other words, any sex act is a symbolic expression of feeling, and it's the feeling that really gets us hot.

For example, when a man goes down on a woman, it says something about the way he feels about her and their relationship. A man can eat a woman in a way that's sweet and loving, or worshipful, or wild and possessive. He can be her slave or her lover or her master. He can tease her or arouse her or demand that she yield to him. Each is an expression of how he feels, and her reactions tell us in turn how she feels about what he's doing and the role he's playing.

Missionary position says something different than rear-entry which is different than her on top, which is totally different than anal. They're all ways the people are trying to negotiate to get their needs met and express what they feel. There's a dance around being aggressive or passive, giver or taker, owner and owned that's expressed in the kinds of things they do.

The moment of orgasm is, of course, ultimate surrender of the two lovers. They yield control of their bodies and feelings to their partners and give themselves completely. I think that's symbolic too of our desire to fuse with the one we love, where barriers are erased and all we are is another's pleasure.

The worst sex stories (and the ones that always make me feel the dirtiest and the most ashamed of being a pornster), are the ones in which there's no interaction between the characters. It's all a list of "I fucked her this way and then I fingered her clit as I fucked her that way" with no expression of inner life or emotion, and so they seem mechanical and really kind of obscene.

Check it out the next time you're reading a story that grabs you. See if you're not understanding the character's actions in terms of what they must be feeling. I'll bet you are. It's true: the mind is the sexiest organ.

As a very brilliant horse (who was born in wrong year) recently said in much more eloquent words to me "Don't write for the audience, write for you." I tend to agree. :D

Those may well be the two sexiest paragraphs ever written.

I have to say I agree about the emotion, and the fact that every woman is 5'2 105lbs and has DD tits, is annoying to say the least, also EVERY GUY does not have HUGE COCK, but anyway.....what gets me, is the dialogue...

"she grunted, uhhhnnhnhnnnaaaaa fuck my assssss"

but NOT TOOO Excessive.....

also subtle things, like teasing, "she massaged her ass on my crotch, when noone was looking"

but, that's just me :)

I'm bookmarking this.

Wow, these are some very deep answers to what I had originally intended as a simple question. And I'm taking notes on all of this. But perhaps I worded this wrong. Maybe an example would be best.

Do you like:

A:

"As he finally got down between her legs, he could see that she was definitely enjoying this. Her juices flowed from her like a river making her glisten in the light. Teasing her, he kissed her gently along the inner thighs, slowly working his way towards his goal, making sure to come close, but never touching her swelling lips. Finally, after deciding he had tortured her enough, he tasted his rewards. Licking her with long powerful strokes, he extended his tongue as far into her as he could, savoring the juices as it flowed freely now. Rolling his tongue like a wave inside her, he was greeted with a loud moan followed by her hips thrusting themselves onto his tongue as he began to dart it in and out with rapid succession. Hearing her moan earnestly now, he pulled back, switching his tongue with a finger which went in easily. While he finger fucked her, he watched as her clit swelled harder and harder, begging for attention, which he granted. Closing his mouth on her little button, he sucked it with gusto while his tongue flicked across it. This was all too much to bear for her as she came like no other time before, her entire body shaking with such intensity that it took all his strength to hold onto her until finally she calmed down, gasping for air."

or B:

"The wait was unbearable for her. After what seemed like an eternity, she knew he was right in front of her most sensitive of areas. She could feel her juices as they trickled out of her, wanting to release. Why did he stop? Before she could answer this question, she felt him again, but it wasn't where she wanted him to be. So close yet so far to the goal. She felt him moving closer, like a tiger moving stalking its prey, each step seeming to take forever to complete. Closer, closer she sensed him go but will as she might, he would not go faster. What had once a moment ago been incredible pleasure was now turning into excruciating pain. She wanted to unlock the door to incredible extasy but only he had the key. Finally, after what seemed like several lifetimes, he unlocked the door. The pleasure was indescribable. What she had thought was pure joy before was nothing compared to what she was feeling now. Her eyes closed, she saw bright colors changing in shades and hues with each movement of him inside her. A moan escaped from her lips. The images stopped before focusing in on a dark red. She felt him stop and switch to something longer and more rigid, her mind not being able to focus anymore than that. The red began to burn slowly at first, but picking up speed as he moved in and out of her. Building up to a firey orange, it changed immediately to a bold yellow as he found a new and final lock. The colors brightened with intensity. She felt an incredible force building inside of her, threatening to tear her apart from the inside. She breathed heavily now, using all of her willpower to keep that force contained within her, not knowing what would happen should she let go. A part of her wanted him to stop, realizing that he was the source of this power but another part of her forbade her to do so as if wanting her to break. Her psyche struggled with itself until it was too much for her and she let go. Wave after wave of unadulterated pleasure hit her with the force to destroy mountains. The yellow which had become blinding a moment ago became a pure inviting white. A warmth washed over her, one that she has never felt before, but quickly embracing it. She felt herself shake to her very core, wondering if this would be the end of her, but not caring if it was. Eventually the warmth grew cold, and light faded. She slowly came back to her senses, gasping for air as she did so."

It's a bit rough, but that's what I was going for. I hope you can see the difference between the two. Sorry if the second one sounds really lame. I took my best guess at what you ladies go through.

Bloody hell, that in itself was erotic.

I was going to add to this thread, then I saw the Doc's post. No point in me saying anything now, cos he said it all, for me.

Spot on!

I agree with Dr M about erotica and possession/surrender.

The other thing I'd add, since we're talking about gets women hot, is that it's also about frenzy, losing your mind in the experience, going to that place that is beyond union to communion. There is nothing hotter than going somewhere new sexually, especially if the woman is doubtful about the experience. Allowing oneself to carried away on a sexual tide where she can bite, scratch, yowl, thrust and even beg is the ultimate act of sexuality and trust. When you can effective describe that moment, you have done very well indeed.

I just realised that's what I'm always trying to do when I'm writing my stuff.

Nicely said, lolo.
