I took this picture from the library window. Trying to show the symmetrical design on the Esplanade theater building--like a honey comb. The complex is also referred to as the Durian building because of the shape. Some people also call it Bug Eyes. Heh heh! It's really nice, worth a visit.

Across the river from the Esplanade, you can see the skyline of the financial district. I caught the Merlion (the smaller one) spouting!

This is the Fullerton Hotel. It used to the the main post office building, but was restored and made into a 6-star hotel. Haven't been inside yet, but I hear it is quietly elegant in general.

And for a change, here is a cute guy who was performing rap in the open courtyard at the Esplanade :)

Aww, don't mean to make you feel sad, Gusty :(
I'll post pictures of different things if the Singapore pictures make you sad. Okay?

Gusty, I saw the cousin of your bicycle man with cardboard boxes. He was riding down a busy street here and I didn't have my camera :(

I haven't seen a donkey cart here, though! Beijing still has those!?!?

yep we do in the countryside... this was actually on the road outside my daughter's school.....

I love the contrasts between modern and old...... and hope to post more here....

Sad that "farmer" would be an insult.

We say "mountain person" as an insult. Terrible.

Yes, you got it.

Sadly, common insults. And another insult is having big feet. Because when you don't have shoes to wear, your feet spread out big and wide.

The color in that rose is amazing!

(But I still feel sorry for the donkey...do you know water buffalo, Gusty?)
