I liked your RP idea very much, although I cannot take part as I have so many other projects at the moment, including my own just-begun RP. But that period of Japanese history fascinates me, when the Shoguns are just beginning to open up a little to the outside world and all sorts of deeply-held beliefs are clashing. My aunt is Japanese and I often ask her about growing up in (just) God-Emperor era Japan. Have you read 'The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet' by David Mitchell?

Anyway - all that aside, I like what you have done with the place. Welcome to Lit. I am sure other, wiser heads than mine will soon traipse in to munch your pizza slices, help themselves to your beer, criticize your music collection and put their feet on your prized cushions.

No, I haven't. That sounds really awesome. I'm a Japanese American and that whole era of Japan is really interesting to me. I find it really appealing although I'm sure my family was just like poor farmers or something during that time.
