Ashley's Big Bold Move

I have an idea for a story. It stars a girl named Ashley. She is just about to start her first year in college, getting into a great dance academy. She is a good girl, born and raised Christian, always trying to help others, and she has a great reputation in her church for being sweet and helpful. Ashley is an incredible blonde beauty and has only got more beautiful since the summer, everything started to fall into place and get into porportion. She is also a very accomplished dancer and has hopes of becoming a cheerleader some day.

She lives in an adorble small town where everybody goes to the same church and everybody knows eachothers name. One of the regular events the whole town participates in is going to the Dance Academy's annual summer ho-down throwdown dancing contest held at a huge barn. Literarlly the whole town comes and Ashely always preforms.

Ashley is also a virgin and even though she is a part of an inseprable crew, they still tease her about being such a goody-to-shoes. And Ashley has had enough. She has been growing into her own and finding herself recently. She wants to prove to whole town that there is another side to her than just sweet and soft Ashley.

Therefore, she devises in an incredible plan. As she is already scheduled to preform in the Dance Academey's dance contest, she plans something daring. She is going to preform a dance in which she strips in the middle of song, stripping into nothing but clear cellophane covering her (because Ashley still feels that she should be wearing *something* on stage even if it is just see through plastic wrap). She wants to wow the whole town and wants people, especially to guys, to see her in a different way.

However, Ashley is at heart a very sweet girl and is so innocent that she doesn't really have any idea of how much her preformance will affect the town, specifically all the men, who now can't see her as anything other than a hot little sex kitten who they all want a piece of. Although she starts to like it more and more and then begins to discover her true "identity."

The idea that small towns are tight-knit, friendly places is largely a myth and something I'd change about the story. They are usually filled with under-educated people with petty prejudices and rivalries--hence the reason that most rural areas tend to be conservative. In short, I'd aim more for a Peyton Place vibe than The Andy Griffith Show one.

I'd also make her motivations more complex. There are a few ways you could do this. An example follows.

Perhaps she's more of an Ugly Duckling type than simply a 'good girl.' She could have low self-esteem and body issues despite being a knockout due to a strict and sex-negative upbringing in the kind of fundamentalist church that thrives in those areas. She dresses in frumpy clothes, has a cheap, bad haircut, etc. Maybe the boys in school jump to the conclusion she's fat and unattractive under all of that, which leads to her desire to 'unveil' herself.

At first I didn't know what you mean by "E/V," but it became clear that this is an Exhibitionist/Voyeur story.

The only thing missing is the pay off at the end, in my opinion. Maybe the ending could be that she walks around town the next day, and people who should would normally see everyday started looking at her differently. Men started gawking at her and she smiles while she walks past them.

I know, the end is something that kinda is an issue. Maybe I see this story as just the first in a series, or maybe the ending could be something like you said or just what happens backstage that night.

You guys do such an awesome job with all of your stories, clearly with so much talent, I totally trust that anybody who would be so awesome as to want to run with this idea will do a great job. The story is loosley based on my life.

Wow, talk about the pot calling the kettle black! Funny how you see them as having prejudices all the while displaying yours. Way to go, lib.

As for the story idea, I like it. I don't think it would go over too well if she were to do a full strip, regardless of the saran wrap, but something saucy and "bad" would definitely get the same attention. Maybe a Wicked Weasel bikini?

Honestly, it wouldn't have to be too risque for it to be exotic in that setting. I think it would get the blood boiling even if it was a relatively modest outfit that was simply very daring for the persona all the town thought they knew.
