Watched a snippet yesterday on a company/foundation/org in Utah that mummifies people and pets. Last night some synapses fired in my brain while sleeping and I dreamed about that.

So, what form of enternal internment have you chosen for yourself?

Personally I have let my family know I wish to be cremated. What they do with the ashes is up to them, but I think spreading them in the forests of the Cascades would be fine.

The thought of being sealed in a casket (yes, I know I'm dead - but my soul isn't) or burned creepes me out.

Let the wolves, vultures, magpies, ravens, eagles, hawks, mice, etc have at me! Take what is left of me and live!

:rose:

Love this thread (and that you put my funeral of choice up *sigh*)

The boat to Valhalla sounds tempting, but just cremate me and bury the ashes beneath an oak.

cremated and just toss the ashes outside someplace. I have know from the time I was 10 that this is what I wanted.

In the Great Pyramid, of course. Why would I spend all my time and money building one if I wasn't going to use it?

My parents were a little taken aback that I wanted to be cremated; but what about being resurrected, etc.? I pointed out that if God could/would/will resurrect me, then it won't make any difference what condition my mortal body is in. I mean, what about all those people who die in fires, explosions, who drown and we never find them, etc.?? Moreover, the Bible says we will get new bodies, not use our old ones.

It amazes me how superstitious people are to this day. People who don't think things through. I mean, yeah I am a Christian, and some people would label me as being superstitious for that alone, but I have thought it through a bit. If I have a soul, if there is a God, if that God does what the Bible says he will do, then the disposal of my mortal body will have no impact on whether I will be resurrected.

Embalming, being buried in a metal casket in a concrete vault - that stuff didn't start happening until just recently, and yet people think this has something to do with their resurrection? I am all for people having religious beliefs if they so wish - but please people, think it through, learn your religion's teachings, not superstitious nonsense you hear by word of mouth.

Someone remind me to not be a follower/subject of Cleo; I don't want to be buried alive in a pyramid. ;)

Damn! I forgot to put up being stuffed!

Well, being mummified is pretty close to that; if you want to be stuffed then vote for being mummified.

I'll make exceptions for the chosen few...*grin*

Chalk me up for the burning thing.

except not really sure that I want to be put into one of those crematorians (sp) I think a moderate funeral pyre would suit me just fine. oh and yes take out anything that might still be working on me to use on other people.

Burn me! Although having dealt with a cremated body, It isn't all ashes. There are chunks, too. Really heavy cuz of all the minerals.

My parents were cremated. My mom wanted to travel so we thought we would send some of her ashes all over the world...general delivery.:)

She is in the Pacific Ocean. We let her drift from there.
