She sat there at the bar in the kitchen with a wicked smile sipping a glass of red wine. He didn't have that many clothes at her place yet and this was his last dress shirt. Licking the wine from her lips she finally spoke.

Ya know... its a tad too comfy I don't think I wanna take it off... Guess you will have to go to the meeting bare chested. Or call your sister and tell her you have to get ready for a performance... What would she want more... You at the meeting or you getting back to the music you love so much?

SOmething was dragging her... she could see That musician... Canaan... he was trying to follow her but was n't able to reach her... Then a single light... she was clawing at something... a wall? some sort of containment... the light was mocking her dancing around just out of reach... she could barely breath then...

She could see herself... staring blankly feeling claws at the side of her face... She could hear him but could not speak trapped within herself her body an immobile shell as she screamed for him. Darkness looming in front of her speaking but she could not make out what it said words like buzzing bees bouncing around her from the darkness. A glint of something... pain... Fire then...

She sat there staring memories were starting to surface... all those strange dreams... they all held little twisted pieces of a past she had forgotten... blocked out or had wiped from her mind now they were slithering back into her conscious mind. Pain... darkness... fire... voices chattering away around her like bees way too many bees to understand any of it.

A deep dreamless sleep till her mind again began filtering memories once more. She could see the flames as if they were all around her. She was shaking... crying... there was a voice shouting though she could not make out anything about it just the voice saying NOW... NOW... NOW!

It was there again hovering its marred and lined face near hers... she still could not make out too many features only the lines and marred scars and destruction. It kept talking but she could not understand any of it. Then as always the pain the smell of fire and waking screaming. With Canaan looming around in her life he even found his way into the nightmares as well as all dreams. When it came to the strange marred being she could hear him roaring out about it facing him... releasing her... then she would hear him say... "You" then the sound of what she could only guess was whatever he was dealing with killing him. She always then woke screaming.

I had chosen the concept of my gift with thoughtful care. I wanted her to receive the present of her hearts desire this christmas. With the magic of this realm she would receive such a gift.

The beautifully wrapped box contained an exquisite red rose with a single thorn. Also contained within the box also was a a hand written instruction.

I could not turn back time or revoke death. The magic of the rose could evoke a memory, a dream sequence, even provide the trappings for a sensual evening with a special someone.
