As a writer?

I'm my own worst critic so...the author. I think at times I get a good flow going and then if I take a break and force myself, I over compensate and the results aren't acceptable.

Writing something I know isn't up to my self set standards, but being unable to do better even when I know I'm writing tripe.

1. The shortfall between the story my muses are trying to tell and my skills at conveying that story.

2. The story ideas that seem great at 3am and are useless when I read the notes the next morning.

3. The number of stories that are part completed because they have diverged from the planned plot/development and I can't see how to either get them back on track or how to complete them in the new direction.

4. The number of old stories that need editing/rewriting to fit with my developing skills.

5. Lack of time to write the stories that I really want to write because I am writing the stories that are top in my consciousness.

6. THE novel that won't stop bouncing around in my head but never gets written even during NaNoWriMo.

That is the top 6 in order of irritation. And then the last - I know I'll die before I have written all the stories I want to tell. Not that I expect to die soon but the story ideas keep coming at the rate of at least 8 to 10 a day.

Typing. I have decent plot, interresting enough characters, and a lot of half finished passages and sentences in my head. Stringing the last pieces together and getting that shit out of there and onto paper and/or file, that simply sucks balls. Not because I can't do it, but because it's so god damn tedious, and I'm not patient enough.
