As a sadist, do you like watching nature shows where it shows predator taking down other animals and killing it for food?

I don't know if this makes me a sadist, but I always, since childhood, rooted for the cheetah and not the little baby gazelle.

Surprisingly

No.

i watch them because i appreciate seeing wildlife i can't ordinarily see living in a city.

And you can't drag the bunny story during SERE training out of me with hammer and tongs.

it makes me salivate....not so much the quick kills of big cats but the way wolves kill. disemboweling, swarming on the prey...the wide eyed terror as it stumbles around...panic causing it to bleed and die faster...

yup, it gets me going.....
xx

Well, I'm not a dom, so I didn't vote, but I never know who to root for. I feel sorry both ways. If it gets the deer or whatever I feel sorry for the poor dead whatever, and if it doesn't I feel sorry for the predator cause he's so hungry! And it's poor starving babies. I just try not to watch that kind of thing, it messes with me too bad. LOL

Have always admired the wolf pack and their tactical skill in the hunt as well as their family values.

Killer whale pods also are great to watch, when my unit was sent to Fort Lewis for live fire training in 1988 my one regret was not getting down to the sound to see the killer whales. :(

Not a Domme but will anser anyway:p

That really depends..I root for the animal I like more....So if a cheetah is attacking another animal..I'm with cheetah, but if a snake attacks mouse..I'm with poor, cute mousy:D

and before you say it...Yes I know I'm mental

Hmmm, as most here associate their S/m with sexual arousal, is comparing arousal over watching animals with sexual sadism relevant? LOL, maybe I am strange....well i know I am as I get told it enough times...but to me the 2 don't have any more relevance than asking if a person likes to watch roadkill for real. Like AA, we both enjoy watching for the beauty and reality of nature, not the desire to watch another die....is not roleplay nor is is sexual in the way it is interpreted by us.

Yeah, I voted "no" and don't really make the connection. It is like asking if I watch CourtTV in the hope that someone is sentenced to death or something. Or do I chase ambulances to see an injuried person? I'm not a very big sadist, but it only interests me as far as what I do with my submissive partner. I am indifferent to seeing random stuff concerning people/things where I have no previous invested connection.

it's not the same at all!
personally seeing people getting hurt upsets me...unless i'm the one hurting...but wolves on a kill are like art...it is to me a thing of beauty!
a beautiful view gets me hot, a beatiful sculpture gets me hot, the perfect kill gets me very hot.
a ballet with death....
xx

Right, I understood your perspective. I was saying it was "like the same"...to me. Meaning my opinion and my perspective. :)

i can accept that. not everyone works the same way ;)

Well the closest I ever came to killing an animal is killing chickens. My mom is from small farm town in Italy (although we now life in big city north america). And she likes fresh chickens. So we go to the farm and I have pulled a neck or two (chickens of course). It is all very clean, no blood, although the chicken is very happy it. Never really bothered me.

However I do have to admit that killing in the wild has always facinated me. Those animals have it down to an art.

Agree, for me it's a "yes, but I don't think it's really relevant."
I just like predatory things.

No. I'm not much of a sadist when it comes to animals. For the most part, I don't like seeing them run in fear. The only animal that I enjoy looking all scared at me is my cat, because she rarely does look terrified at me, and because I know she really does trust me. And because even though I may scare her for this one thing, I know that she'll let me comfort her after it's over =)

Thank you all...I like to watch them...for the nature about it. I admit to a certain fasination with the raw violence of it, but NO I do not get sexually stimulated while watching this. I appreciate the intensity of it and the hard cold reality truth unfolding.

Its like taking a dose of reallity.

The point of the poll for me was to help me sort out my thoughts on something, and even though the results have been tainted...I got what I needed out of it.

Thank you all for participating.

If you ever come across another poll and it starts out with something like...

"As a sadist"

and you know for certain you are not a sadist...maybe....just maybe you shouldn't vote as the poll is for someone who "is" a sadist. You can contribute to the thread and discussion all you want without voting.

I am outa here for the day be well.

LOL, bad thing for us was we could only vote once as we are registered under one name :( , though not on the same scale, we both have sadistic tendencies (ROFLMAO, just check the damage I can do in the APF)!! That boy was coloured a variety of shades for a week or so.:D

Just want to point out that I DID say I didn't vote. I just weighed in my (pathetic) opinion. Dolf said it was so me, mommying the world.

I only regard myself as a "bit" of a sadist, since it's incidental rather than the feature. But I did go ahead and vote for "shrug". I don't notice myself rooting for either the cheetah or gazelle.

Just as an aside, there is a brilliant ad here for Mountain Dew with a cyclist chasing down a cheetah then diving on him and pushing his hand down the cheetah's throat to retieve his can of Mountain Dew.

"Bad Cheetah!"

(and a comment from a guy watching is "That's why I'm not a cat person.")

Nah... I watch cause I'm interested in the wildlife.

But as for the other... Hey .....To Do Is To Be ...Yah know?

I definitely root for the cheetah.

My sub for many years had huge green eyes, and I always found that "deer caught in headlights" look when she was really afraid so attractive.

Incidentally, I lived in Kenya for some years of my life and have a picture petting a cheetah. I've also been chased by a hippo, and had mango throwing fights with monkeys. I have drank blood with the Masai and been into the Great Rift Valley. I even slaughtered a goat once.
