We have a couple of helicopters from the Korean War (the first one that is) that still work, some F16's that we can't deploy because their radios aren't usable in battle zones, 4 subs that can't dive because their vents leak, some new destroyers that have the wrong missile armaments.....but we do have a 45 year old destroyer escort, the Iroquois, that left port yesterday with some sparrow missiles and a deck gun!

Once Parliament debates the issue, we might decide to let it fire its guns....we'll get back to you.

I live close to the Canadian border, and love visiting Canada. Nice country.

Like any independent country, Canada has the right to set its own foreign policy. They can quietly disagree with the US. They can loudly say obnoxious things about the US.

When it comes time to look at things like border crossing policy, and trade, what kind of "ally" Canada chooses to be is among the things that US can and _should_ take into account. If we decide that Canada is not much of an ally, and shift some trade policies so that half a million or a million Canadians lose their jobs...

In no way did the comments influence any opinions I have about Canada or the people there. It's her opinion, and often things are reported out of context. Even if she believes that, who cares....? Yes, I heard that after posting and had a chuckle.

The Iroquois is hardly a "carrier".....we've not had an aircraft carrier since 1963.

The Iroquois is as old as mud and the 1 Sea King helicopter onboard crashed (as usual)....so our magnificent navy is sailing home after yes....1 day at sea!
