Aromatherapy question

Which scents are best used for sensual aromatherapy? I've done some research, but all I seem to be able to find are the names of books to buy or productst that are sold (that don't tell actual scent).

It's not a lot of help, but I've read that lavender, vanilla, and pumpkin pie spice scents are turn-ons for men (according to research on scents and penile blood flow). No idea about women. Maybe you could get some massage oil with one of those scents?

I've heard that Jasmine and Sandalwood do the trick. Sandalwood gets me going every time.

I also love Nag Champa incense and scented candles...for some reason, it turns me on beyond belief, and I've heard many of my male friends say the same thing. Some keep it on hand just for burning during sex.

Bath and Body Works sells a "Lavender Vanilla" aromatherapy line...I swear by it. It works to turn me into a sensual tiger. Just one whiff of that stuff and I come alive.

I can't speak for others, but these two just make me hungry -- as in stomach growling hungry, not carpet-munching hungry.

I have read of the study that showed that pumpkin-pie aroma has a high impact on male sexual response. My recollection is that the study was done in such a way that the aromas were sampled unlabelled by the subjects so that their responses would be unbiased by prior experience.

We all have far too many family-oriented associations with pumpkin pie to take this result seriously, yet it appears to be based on a well-designed research study. Guys, let's give it a try. You never know.

I'm one of those people who hate vanilla scents. They're usually either way too phony or way too sweet and make me nauseous. HOWEVER, I love the B&B lavendar vanilla. It smells really great. They even have a linen spray (if it's not discontinued) that i use.

It's not discontinued...and I use it every single time I make up a bed, and to refresh the beds every day. It is fantastic.

It does seem that Bath and Body Works scents seem to appeal to those who don't normally like a particular scent. Usually, I hate the smell of coconut...but their version of it is heavenly.

I wonder if the link between smell and arousal isn't also a comfort thing that we associate with being taken care of? I'm so sensitive to smells that I have to force myself to go into Bath and Body Works, but maybe I'll give the Lav. Vanilla a try.

There's nothing sexier than a man wearing a cologne I like... when the hubby puts on Eternity, I'm ready to go! I don't know what it is, but I'll look twice at someone who's unattractive if they're wearing cologne!

I can't stand people who wear so much perfume or cologne that their scent enters the room before they do. This to me is like a cover up of who they really are.
