I would only have a problem with it if the reverse were true, if the military was overwhelmingly white and there was an appearance that non-whites were being kept out.

If "not enough whites" is viewed as a problem (and mathematicallyTHERE IS NO DIFFERENCE between that and "too many non-whites"), then the person who has a problem with that must believe there is some reason why having non-white soldiers is worse than having WHITE soldiers. Unless you can point to actual PROOF that this is the case (spoiler alert: YOU CAN'T), then your belief is based strictly on race.
