Its at least partially that the economy has been decent in recent years and the 20 year Afghan war has spoiled a lot of people on military service. The patriots who sign up sign up to defend Americans not obtain oil. The rest do it for the money and a twenty year war, seeing how the government collectively treats vets. Twice a year you guys remember but the rest of the time nobody really cares. Its not worth the money while Walmart is hiring and you'll have a near 100% chance of sleeping in your own bed at the end of the day. You have internet, can go to the theaters yadda yadda.

OPINION. Higher rates of medals awarded to whites vs non-whites is almost certainly a result of systemic bias in the process of awarding medals. I can't prove that, but you can't prove that non-whites are inherently inferior as soldiers.

See, the problem here is that whites aren't signing up for military service. So you automatically assume it's because they're racists who don't want to associate with minorities. Anyone who disagrees, according your biased viewpoint, must also be a racist.

FACTS don't give a shit about your biased bullshit. History proves that whites have been awarded medals in greater numbers than minorities. That doesn't mean the minorities aren't as "brave" but that you're willing to use those FACTS as a means to say that whites don't believe minorities are equal. And of course the FACT that whites are a greater majority of society has a lot to do with the failure to meet recruiting goals when whites don't sign on the dotted line. More FACTS hit home when you realize that there are more non-military options for whites than for inner city minorities who lack equivalent education and career options.
