Anyone else reading the news coming out? Scary stuff. I know we only see one side being presented. His DM messages are coming out and the article I read is only showing his side of the conversation and people are horrified. I want to read the whole conversation...I think it is very likely that the person who leaked the messages was participating freely and is now presenting him as a predator.

So far the sources are Daily Mail and Glamour, so this is rather TMZish doxxing.

Oh my.

I hadn't heard anything about it.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Bah, celebrity gossip.... I don't know anything about it, never pay attention to that stuff, and Arnie Boy was never what I consider to be an a-list actor anyway.

I’m less concerned about him being a celebrity and more interested in what happens with the chat/dm evidence. He’s being portrayed as a monster, which could be accurate. A few of the messages really seem to indicate a deep relationship with a submissive partner and I can’t help but wonder if it’s being misrepresented as nonconsensual when it was consensual. Scary stuff.

(I wouldn’t want to talk about cannibalism with anyone though  *safeword*)

Something for me to go searching for! But anything that's reported in the Daily Hate Mail has to be taken with a whole grinder of salt, they wouldn't know the truth if it bit them on the arse. Fairly sure it's part of their contracts that everything must be skewed and sensationalist, and the truth bedamned.

Yes I hate the DM :)

I'm reluctant to weigh in on this because most of the sources available are not highly trustworthy (seconding Huff76's comments on the Daily Mail!) but my understanding is that Hammer has claimed the DMs are faked. That would seem to rule out the "misrepresented consensual kink" interpretation.

Social media DM’s are a lot like old Lit threads. Besides the fact that people change , unfortunately, they are admissible in the court of public opinion.

Fingerlic’ious

P.S. I’d bet good money Ray Donovan is behind this :D or Howard the duck Stern.

This is the only thing I read about it:

Some of it makes me really happy that I’m not out there trying to find a new partner to tie up, especially while being famous.
Vucekovich explained that one encounter, which took place on an evening in Sedona, Arizona, left her with regret. Armie, she said, was drinking heavily and persuaded her to participate in “a bondage scenario that I was not comfortable with.” He sulked, “cold and angry,” to convince her, and then, she said, “I eventually consented and really regretted doing so.”

As messy as it was, Vucekovich said she felt like it was a real relationship. Armie had introduced her to his mother, Dru, and talked about bringing her to the Dominican Republic while he filmed a romantic comedy with Jennifer Lopez. But just as fast as the relationship formed, in June, and intensified—the two were spending nearly every day together, she alleged—it ended in September. She checked herself into a treatment program for trauma.

Like you said TPH, messages taken out of context are tricky. Without context or tone it is really hard to say what was going on and in any case, fantasizing and talking=\=doing.
Does he seem post divorce crazy, over the top with a family to match from the article? Is it bad judgement? Sure.
Is he a rapist? No idea.
Point blank denial seems to be the route he is taking and it’s probably the best damage control.

The resulting discussion is no surprise. How do we handle consent to make sure it’s really informed and given by a person capable to make the choice and handle the fallout?
From the lawyer representing the account that leaked messages:

“Part of the problem is that the victim is extremely vulnerable and trusting,” she said, “and is often taken advantage of by sexual predators who know that many of their victims will be afraid to report the crimes against them for fear of being blamed and shamed and not believed when they say that they did not consent to crimes against them.”

Yes, exactly, IrisAlthea. We cannot know the context of the messages, and I believe women who report abuse. I am curious to see where this all goes.

I am also very glad I’m not looking for a pyl partner right now.
