Arkansas has the highest teen pregnancy rate so it reacts by banning all sex ed

Take a look at the whole bible belt, with their 'purity pledges' and 'abstinence only' sex ed, and it tells the whole story, they are at the top of the teen pregnancy list, almost to a state. They ban sex ed, claiming that it promotes teen sex and teen pregnancy, because to do otherwise would be to admit that their 'good book' written by bronze age nomads and desert dwellers is a miserable failure. Every study has shown that abstinence only (or its root cause, religious based stupidity on sex) is a failure, that the purity pledges and virgin till marriage idea doesn't work. The only difference between kids who have had comprehensive sex ed and those being told 'abstinence only' is that those with comprehensive sex ed may start slightly younger. What is scary is that those on the 'abstinence only' side of the equation when they do have sex don't have a clue, and more importantly, are doing stupid things to 'stay a virgin'. Kids whose only sex ed was being told 'just say no until marriage' use birth control/condoms 1/3 the rate of kids with sex ed; worse, a lot of them, to keep 'pure', are doing things like having anal and oral sex, because 'that isn't sex, I am still a virgin', and that is downright scary.

It is kind of ironic down in "God's little acre' , "Real America" or whatever you want to call it, that they have the highest rate of teen pregnancy whereas 'Godless" america on the coasts, are generally much lower....makes ya wonder what good the bible really is.

It also shows another stupidity, Arkansas just enacted some of the toughest anti abortion laws in the country.....and most of these states are strongly anti abortion. They whine about the number of abortions being done, yet they also support policies that lead to more and more unwanted pregnancies (the client base for abortion), it hasn't dawned on the morons that maybe, just maybe, the best way to get rid of abortion is to make it mostly unnecessary. The real irony is almost no one, I mean no one, is a virgin when they get married, across the board, it is roughly 90% non virgins, and given that, you would figure they would think of the lesser of two "evils", accept that sex is gonna happen, and focus on cutting demand for abortions, but higher math takes an education to figure out...

Not to mention, but what happens to all these teen mothers and their babies, if you get rid of abortion? Then you will have all the rednecks whining and complaining about the cost of social services and welfare for 'those people' .......talk about self fulfilling prophesies.

Southern red Bible belt states also have extremely high HIV infection rates.

Banning teenagers would be more effective. Just ship 'em off to another state on their 13th birthday, and let them come back when they turn 20, if they want to.

Would seem to makes sense. Good to hear some reason and common sense in this sick depraved cess pool of a society.

Its pretty useless though with all the sexual filth on television. That's where the real battle needs to be.

Then why does America lead the teen pregnancy and abortion rates despite the fact that Mexican Sesame Street would have to air on HBO in the states?

Sounds like you need some Windex.

Funny though how sex ed empowers kids to make wiser choices about their bodies and their lives. Conservatives say that's a bad thing.

I don't believe that Arkansas exists. I've never been there and I have never physically met anyone from there. Therefore worrying about the fictitious problems of fictitious fucking teenagers is not a high priority.
