Hi there Tucson!

Hi there!
My name is Martin, and I will be moving out to Tuscon this week. I would sure love to have someone show me around the town, to help me find the cool clubs and coffeehouses. I'm 29, single, fit, from Ireland, and generally considered good company.
I like tennis, running, reading, working out, movies, and I've been trying to stay upright on roller-blades and am now ready to actually move on them.
If any of these interests overlaps yours, and if you don't mind a new friend to hang out with, please respond.

Thanks,

Martin

Welcome to Arizona

Welcome to all the new people who have replyed to the Arizona thread.

Hi Martin,
Welcome to Arizona. You picked a great state for your out door activities. I live north of Tucson and have only been there several times, so I can't help you find your way around. What I saw was very nice and I visited the University campus on several occations and there is a lot to do around that area.

Just a reminder: Until you are used to the heat do your strenuous activities ;) in the early morning and late evening and drink plenty of water. Before you know it the temperature will dip below 80 degrees (Brrrrrrrr cold) and you'll be reaching for your heavy winter coat like the rest of us 'Zonians. Luckly winter only lasts about 2 weeks and then our nice balmy 105 degree weather returns. Why do people want to live any other place besides Arizona?

Wow, MahoganyLioness, a native!!! There aren't many of us around! I'm always gald to hear of another.

Glad to see everyone coming out of the woodwork... :) Anyone else, please come out and play!! :)

are we having fun yet?

its great to see more action going on in "Arizona"...maybe if we get enough responses going and interest we can all get together someday for a bbq or something....welcome Chuck...would love to hear from you some more...feel free to PM me to chat some more....Tom...were are you?...haven't heard from you lately....good to hear from you Shadowcat....

Yay Tucson!

I guess this is as good a place to make my first post as any! LOL

I'm 29, divorced, I like motorcycles (no I dont have my own, I just like to ride on the back and look pretty ;) ), I like all kinds of music, swimming, reading, writing, and hanging out at my favorite coffee house (PM me Martin :D )

It's nice to be on a board with so many people from my homestate! :D

hello everyone, i'm a single m, live in scottsale. nice to see quite a few people here. i enjoy trading messages, reading all the odd thoughts and posts.... and of course reading the stories.

i'm a nut for outdoor endurance sports - triathlon, long distance running, cycling, hiking etc... suffereing a bit as usual in august and hoping to hang on til my last race and then cool weather and a bit of hiking and relaxing.

talking to other 'zonies sounds interesting.

Hello everybody!!

Bump to Arizona!
Thanks everybody for your hellos! I've been here for about 60 hours, and everybody has made me most welcome.
My first impression of Tucson is of friendly people, easy driving, spectacular sunsets, amazing skyline (and I'm not talking about buildings!). I'm going to be here for a while, and I'm really looking forward to getting to know the town and make friends. There's a ton of things that I'm looking forward to doing - if only the days were a little longer!
To make things even better, I've scored a free Bally's gym membership, there's a tennis club about 100 yards from where I stay, and it's not that hot!
Stay tuned to this Bat channel for the ongoing impressions of an Irishman in Tucson - Sting, eat your heart out, NY ain't nothin'!

Also in AZ

Nice to see that there are some AZ people here, BUT...anyone in their 50's or so? Starting to think I'm the only one in that age group. Lived in Tucson but moved out of the city for the country. Lots of bunnies, quail and coyotes! The mountain views and sunsets are fantastic! Any of you in the Green Valley or Vail area?

50ish?

hello az kate and others...

i'm 48, so getting closer to 50 anyway. I love tucson, it seems that many here on lit. are from that area. i wonder why.... where are all the phoneix/scottsdale people?

I was just in tucson two weeks ago for a quick getaway, i like tucson and usually come down for a few races or cycling events a year.
