...plus I wonder about the motivation for doing it. Is it that we want ourselves, or our partners, to look pre-pubescent? If so, why?
Easy. To get more stimulation. Ask any man or woman who has shaved their head (I haven't but know a few); the bare skin is wonderfully sensitive to the touch and when stroked offers delightful sensations, much more than if you petted their head when it had hair. The argument that it (removing pubic hair) is actually dangerous makes sense, plus I wonder about the motivation for doing it. In fact, I can't quite understand why the article didn't even mention this as a reason for the removal--never mind the aesthetics. Simply put, and especially when it comes to oral sex, bare skin is going to be more pleasant for the licker and lickee. The person licking isn't licking hair, they're licking skin--making for a much smoother and tastier experience for them--and they avoiding swallowing hair or getting it in their teeth. The person being licked feels the tongue on their naked skin, rather than somewhat on their skin because the hair is there.
This seems like a no-brainer reason for pubic hair removal. More skin = more sensations.

This is also part of it apart from the sex. This was what the Doc was talking about when she referred to the hairless models and bikinis and whatnot. The introduction of deodorants and the anti-sweat camp is a similar thing.I also feel much cleaner when I shave versus when I don't.

Funny. The picture of the man shows him clean shaven. Shouldn't the same argument be made for a man's face?
Anyone who thinks that an adult, shaven pussy looks like a pre-pubescent one hasn't seen many pre-pubescent pussies.
Which is a damn good thing, when you think about it. Continue to not!
Well, not quite. It's unlikely that a woman is going to encounter herpes on her legs or armpits and so the protection of the hair in such places (or so argues the article) are not as important. And, the same argument could be made for women shaving their legs and armpits.
I'm very much in the pro-pubes camp. The hairier, the merrier! Indeed, my latest-submitted story (not posted yet, but look for it in a day or two) is on just this topic. Hairy pussy fans unite, we may be outnumbered but we're not alone!
Concur.
Mark me down for God given pussy.
And I would try getting a razor close to my balls ...
Seriously, what's so sexy about grabbing a handful of pubes and tugging on them?
I don't think that's what my doctor had in mind when she said I should be getting more fibre in my diet.
Fros are not in style anymore.
You know, the article also fails to mention the pitfalls of pubic hair. Like crabs.
