This is the phrase I heard my sister say about 10 time before I told her if she said it again I'd pop her upside the head.

Here I thought, that I would come and tell you I'm home from cali, and then tell you all about the fun I had in cali, and how i'm going back on the 6th and how i plan to go meet my new bf's parents in washington.

But, I'm going to set all that aside, because I found out something that just floored me. And will you too.

When I came back from cali, one of the goals was to empty out the storage. Well, we did and left in storage was my brother's stuff and my ex's stuff. Well, the storage guy refuse to let us leave it in there, telling us he was going to charge us the extra month if we didn't remove it. So we calle dup my brother, chewed his ass out and got his new address and took him his stuff. We called my ex but only got voice mail. Finally I said, load it all up, let's drive it out to his parents house.

So we did. We got it all int he van, then took our new car (more on that later) and went to his parents house. We had my dad go to the door, just in case my ex was there... or if anything else happened. Etc. etc. Well, we found out something, that now has everyone gawking.

My ex is dead.

I'll repeat it.

My ex-husband, the crazy son of a bitch who made my life hell for 3 years, tried to kill me, then harassed me of months on end is:

Dead

That's right. Well, we had my dad ask his dad, and he said it was "inconclusive" and he was buried at "Forest grove".

well, we wanted a confirmation, so yesterday we went to forest grove. Well, the funeral home there was closed, and we couldn't find a marker and there was too much there to search, so we left.

We were almost out of the area when I said, let's go find Bradon, his old friend/roomate. Well, we went to Bradon's house, and about 3 blocks back, we got behind a black truck, now the interesting thing is, there's only one way ina nd one way out to his house, so when thet truck turned around in the yard of bradon's house, we were shocked to discover it was bradon himself. Weird timing.

I said "I heard matt is dead, is this true?" and he said yes it is, I said how he replied "seizure" and I said, where is he buried? and he said "forest grove" and we asked where in there and he said "follow me" so we followed him to the grave.

He took up to a completely unmarked, undecorated grave. We talked to him, and he asked me my side of the story. Because he said, he'd always heard their side, but never heard mine.

Boy did they not match up. Lol, they told him my ex was "clean and sober" and my ex has never had s sober day in his life. He said that his family "didn't blame me, they just hated the CRUEL WAY I LEFT HIM".

Well, it was an interesting day.

Monday I'm going to go get a death certificate.

Wow. Just, wow.

Get in line lol.

I keep getting that response.

Judging from what I keep hearing, he OD'd.

Brandon told us that he died on June 8th in his parents front room which he was staying.

The day BEFORE that he had called my mom and said that if she wouldn't let him talk to me, that he was going to kill himself. Mom told him "have at it".

The day AFTER my ferret munchie died.. of a seizure. Which is just scarey.

We're all sitting and trying to remember what we were doing on June 8th

Wow. Karma. Or something.

If you're certain he's gone.

I'd do a google search for newspaper obituaries to verify, especially as the grave doesn't have a headstone marker yet.

And his family seems to be so full of shit.

We never could find an obituary, I checked all the papers I know online, but couldn't check local papers. that's why monday I'm going to get a death certificate.

Yep. Good idea.

Call me suspicious, but if he's caused trouble for other people too it would be a great way for him to get out of town.

But can you get a copy? I've done that with historical research before, paid to get copies of birth/death certificates from the county, but the people died 60 years ago. Are more recent certificates available to just anyone?

I will have to take my marriage license to prove we were married, but yes, you can. just provide as much information and proof to who you are as possible and they'll give you one.

Good.

Here's hoping - well, that you're safe, I guess.

:rose:

Are you really going to pop your sister upside her head if she says "Are you serious" again? Or is that just a nasty figure of speech

Congratulations, GG. I am so serious about that. This guy was a liability walking around.

Judging by your age, he seems rather young to have died of a seizure. Maybe he really died of a drug OD or alcohol poisoning. As an ex-wife with rights to survivor benefits, you are entitled to a death certificate, which is an official document, with no euphemisms. If you don't get satisfaction from that, you should be able to get info from the local coronor. If he died suddenly, there should have been an autopsy.

I think the only thing GG wants is to make sure he really is dead-- I doubt she cares much how. If he OD'd, his family will never admit it.

Strangely enough, even if there's a law that a death certificate must be filed in a county's public records, they must be lax at enforcing it in my state. In the middle of last December the parking garage of a high-rise luxury condo in my town, which was under construction, collapsed with some of the construction workers inside of it. One of them, a young man who'd sought out overtime on this job so he could get Christmas presents for his children, was killed. I had wanted to see his death certificate because I wanted to score a point against a coworker of mine, who, without knowing anything about the young man or the incident, assumed that the guy was an illegal alien: "...Ah, that would be Tico or Taco. No more remittances going to Guatemala or wherever. Too bad." Actually, judging by the young man's name and what the local media had said about him and his family, he'd probably come up in the 32202,32206 or 32207 zip code areas and his family had been there for at least three generations. I thought I could at least get his address from the death certificate, but for some reason it has not been filed.
