I think we can change the way we interact with the world, but the core person stays the same. My gran used to say, people get more like themselves and as Pookie said, they worry less about the consequences of their default settings splurging out. Gran was racist because she was brought up that way: when she was off guard she used to come out with some horrendous stuff... she'd fit right in here

I think I have changed in some ways, definitely. It's almost impossible to be exactly the same person as you were 10+ years ago, unless you've spent the entire time in total isolation from the rest of humanity.

And those who claim with certainty that everyone who is an asshole at 25 is also an asshole at 55 is speaking only from their own limited experiences. I've seen many a young asshole become a much better person over time.

Thanks Man. Some of that post is nigh incoherent babble though, I wonder what I was trying to say? Maybe I'm not afraid to try new things after all, like blathering about like a drunken poet. I did feel I owed the world much in earlier years. But once things turned, I didn't have it in me to try and collect.

There's a song I like, it's a rock n roll song about something not very rock n roll at all. In it, one character wants to rocket dance on overload in our underpants until world implodes.... and FUCKIN A, right?!? The other character is like ...let's get some food and watch a movie. The only thing you're running from is your own tragedy. Two perfectly lovely archetypes.
Me? I'm not sure why you can't do both. This might be my evolution, and it might be a case of being grown backward. I could be 90 and may still blow a kiss at my own demise (not a fart joke). dolf is neat huh.
