Are you drawn to people from a certain region or area?

This just came to me while reading cat's age thread.

I don't know why, but all the people who have been catching my eye lately have been from Georgia. Its probably a coincedence, but it does make one curious. Do you find yourself attracted to people that come from a certain region, does an Aussie do it for ya, maybe its a Canadian or even a Michigander. What do you think?

One of my first online friends is from the UK. We still are friends. But I seem to be attracted to them. That is even before I find out where they are from. Anymore, I am not surprised when they say they are from there. lol

You know this made me think for a minute and it seems as if all the women i have meet and gotten along well with have come from the south..im up north in michigan and i do have alot of relatives down south maybe thats why ..Also they always seem really nicew and easy to talk to

i have online friendships with 3 Californian's (one who now lives in TX), two New Yorkers, and an Australian.

I don't seek people out just because they're from a specific area, but I'm rarely surprised to find out whoever I'm talking to is thousands of miles away. Apparently, unless they've been transplanted somewhere else, midwesterners don't do it for me.

New Zealand. Besides Draco, I have 4 or 5 other Kiwis on my ICQ. One I've known for as long as I've known Draco, but the rest are a little more recent, and they're people I've met thru him. There's a few kiwis here in Lit that I like to harass as well. They know who they are.

I have an urge to visit the northeast,but I have met lots of people from everywhere else. California,Belgium,Texas,etc.

Very few from SC though.

hmm...i never knew i came from Georgia!

The people i am closest to seem to be from Ohio...but then there are a few from the westcoast and some from the midwest...and some from the east...heck...they come from all over!! I even have a one from BC that is a doll to share emails with...and some from eastern Canada...

Yes, Georgia..BC...same thing!

I have friends from all over the world as well, it just seemed that recently, all the people I find interesting, for whatever reason, hail from Georgia.

Not really; while I am attracted to a number of people from the midwest, there are also people from the east coast, the southwest, my region, all over actually - so I can't really say that no.

It does come into consideration though because I don't want to have to move too far away from my daughter, and I perfer certain areas over others. Preferably I would rather be attracted to someone who could relocate to my area (the Pacific Northwest) as I like it here for now, and besides not having to move too far, the PNW does have its tech centers and that makes it easier for me to get a job. So real life intrudes.
