Are you a penny watcher?

Is anyone here tight, I mean, do you count the pennies/cents whatever. The reason I ask is that I have a friend who doesn't know he's tight. This man would give you a kidney if it meant saving your life, but where spending money is concerned, forget it.

The sort of thing he would do while out on the town with his mates, is wait until it's his round, then disappear to the bathroom. Personally, I've never been mean or tight with my money, but then I've never had much anyway. But I do know that if a friend needed finacial help, and I had the money, I wouldn't hesitate to lend it.

I wonder what it is that makes one person tight, and another with a simular background generous.

I am the type of person that likes to buy for others before I buy for me. I love to see the happiness that my gift brings to others.

I would help out if I could at that time. My Mum always says that money burns a hole in my pocket, because it's never there long enough.

I'm trying to save right now to go to the States and I'm doing a really good job, but I still like to spend on others.

I am careful with my money, but not tight with it. I spend more on my nieces & nephews than I do on myself. Love to do stuff for the kids. I am trying to buy a house, so don't have a lot of extra spendng money right now. I have lent money to friends before & have always been paid back, so I guess I am lucky.

I seem to spend my money on the wrong things like going out drinking with friends and gambling. Im always buying them drinks or offering to pay for dinner, yet I hardly spend it on things that I could get use out of. I have only bought one pair of shoes and two shirts in the last 2 yrs, I always wait for christmas and birthdays to get clothes. Oh and whats this thing I hear about a savings account? What exactly is that used for anyway?

Well, it all depends. If I have money I ususally throw them at people. Buying drinks, paying for dinner and all.

But if I'm in a tight spot, I hold them very close to my wallet.
