I can think of more historical ones to share, but there's 2 of those TV moments that's been stuck in my head since I was a kid. Both centered on one man - Ahmad Rashad.

One is his marriage proposal, on national TV, to Phylicia Allen (Phylicia Rashad, aka Clair Huxtable on the Cosby Show). He did this as a sportscaster on Thanksgiving day in a game between the Lions and Vikings in 1985.

The other is when Rashad made the "Miracle Catch", as a Viking, in the last 14 seconds to beat the Browns in 1980.

Bromance.

The TV moment that stays in my head was the "Earthquake World Series" between the San Francisco Giants and Oakland A's several years ago...

I remember immediately after the quake when the announcers were joking "wow, we really dodged a big one!" and the helicopters and goodyear blimp were showing the overhead view....I recall thinking "what the hell happened to the interstate highway there?" (it had collapsed). I remember thinking "Am I the only person seeing these collapsed bridges on the interstate?"

The other moment was when the OJ Simpson jurors returned a verdict so quickly. I was 100% sure they were coming back so fast because they had to find him guilty. I was gobsmacked when they said "not guilty".

"According to Tim McCarver when the earthquake hit, he, Michaels and Jim Palmer immediately grabbed a hold of what they perceived to be the armrests. In reality, the announcers were clutching on each other's thighs and they were each left with bruises the next day."

You know you're getting old when you consider 1989 "several years ago".

Yes, when Marcia Brady got hit in the nose by a football. It's like it was yesterday I tell ya.
