How many of you actually practice what you preach? Or is it all a cyberspace facade?

I don't preach.
I've read very few posts in which someone got on a soapbox and told everyone else how to live their life. True, many people here are highly opinionated. True, just because you believe something it can be difficult to change your life to what you believe you 'ought' to be living.
Then again, if that's what you mean, doesn't that make most of real life a façade as well?

I don't believe I've said hello to you yet so I'll do it now.
Hi stormystarr. Welcome to the board. A pleasure to meet you.

That is some very deep stuff,Never. It still begs the question, but so what?
You know what thy say? WTF!

I'm a little confused.

What "preaching" are you referring to?

*stepping on the soap box*

Yes, I am a hypocrite!! I am not even real. I am a figment of my own imagination!! I portray myself as moderately intelligent, with some spelling skills, and not too bad on the eyes, when all the time, I am a hugely obese, housebound quadriplegic, with elephantosis!! And I'm rude, too boot.

*stepping down off the soap box*

Is that what you wanted to know?

Deep?
Groovy man..
I feel so deep.
I bet you have to get a shovel to dig your way out of all my.. Deepness.

Roll yourself ever here you deformed piece of uncouthness.
Let me see if I can get my legs around your waist.

*Is a figment of Endlessly's imagaination*

Blue. You may what? HUH?

smacks self in the head

Blue, just figured it out. ha. umm, yeah, whatever. sigh

Ahhh!
*was in the middle of wrapping my legs around April when the laughter started*
Make it stop! Make it stop!

*Is so glad you weren't laughing so hard you had to roll on the floor*
*Wonders if I'd have better luck being eaten if I were Never pancakes*

You mean you don't have elephantosis? :(
You LIED to me.
How could you?!

*breaks down and cries, running through the door all dramatic like and into the on rushing storm*
I'll never love again!

Umm, where the hell did that storm come from? Damn, the weather's getting freaky!

*LMFAO*

And all this time I thought I was a figment of NEVER's imagination.. It's like the chinese guy and the butterfly..

*Endlessly and Never: The bipolar duo*

*Fell in love with that quote the seond I saw it on the cover of OMNI*

Am I a Never who dreamed I was an Endlessly, or am I an Endlessly, still dreaming I am a Never?

Dead Man Walking...

I'm a hypocrite. I don't always practice what I preach or preach what I practice. I often have conflicting views on things. Sometimes I write long opinionated rants and I'm still trying to work out what I believe while I'm typing the words. Sometimes that's how I work out my opinions on a subject. If I went back and looked at all my posts I'd probably find out that they're a jaggy, badly put together mess of conflicting view points. I change my ideas about things all the time.

I don't care, really. Nothing wrong with being a bit of a hypocrite, in my book. Things are hardly ever as black and white as people want them to be.

For example - I don't believe in the death penalty. I don't think it really prevents people commiting crimes. It's not there as a form of punishment or to prevent people commiting crimes. I think it's there purely for revenge - to make society at large feel better, make them feel like they're getting to lay into the evil-doer with a bass-ball bat, or whatever. I don't personally think it's all that healthy for a society to be run in that way. I'd rather see harsher prison sentences - life-sentences that actually mean for life, not just ten years for good behaviour.

But, at the same time, I know that if anyone harmed anyone close to me I'd probably want to see them strapped to the chair.

So, there you go - I'm a hypocrite.

You might have noticed I've sort of been avoiding the question here, eh. I might as well..

If you're looking for a hypocrite, look no further.

Some of you that have been around for a while may remember me leaving for a couple months.. It was because my own hypocrisy was getting to me after a while. It's more than the 'innocent little Christian girl' routine for me at my church; I was a sunday school teacher for four years. I preach. My father's a deacon (guess that's where I learned hypocrisy.. *wry smile*) and my mother should be.. Parents are constantly coming up to me and telling me what a good role model I am, and how they hope their children grow up to be like me.

Do I feel like crap when I think about what they're reactions would be if they knew I lost my virginity out of wedlock, let alone that I'm a bi-curious porn author with a naked picture of myself online who dabbles in BDSM?

HELL yeah.

When my pastor mentions to me in an idle conversation that he's personally boycotting all companies that give benefits to homosexual partners.. When my best friend (he just got ordained last sunday as a reverend at the age of 20) preaches to parents about "Do you know where your children are?".. When women in the church get pregnant out of wedlock and my associates look down their noses at 'promiscuous' women for sleeping with a guy they've been dating for years..

And I measure it up to MY activites.. My silent acceptance of things that go against the way I live on BOTH ends of my life.. And I deal with being a hypocrite.

It's really quite easy if you don't think about it.. Dammit, I'm thinking about it now.. I think I'm going to take a shower.

Seeing as how I am fake and this is not my real opinion it shouldn't bother anyone right? Zeke calm down he really wasn't trying to make you mad.

Silly question to start the thread but I want to talk on capital punishment.

Roger here in Texas we (oops I mean I) believe that not only does the death penalty stop the person executed from doing anymore crimes it also makes many of the criminals decide to go somewhere else to open shop. Say somewhere that they can kill people and the worst that will happen to them is they get locked up for the rest of their life(maybe) with very few worries about how to support theirselves. Meanwhile the taxpayers and victims get to pay the huge cost of keeping them in confinement.

The number executed even here in Texas is a very very very small % of the total number convicted of murder.

Life in prison without hope of parole, who does that help exactly? If the life style is very decent at all then where is the punishment? If the living conditions are poor then how much worse are we as a society to condemn someone to suffer in it till they die? I do not like capital punishment but I find locking someone in a cage till they die not a good solution either. The answer. Sorry I don't have one.

Anyone condemned to die should have any and all legal avenues explored before they are executed. This is the reason that most of the inmates on death row have been there so long. It is to give them the chance, however slim, to prove their innocence or show extenuating circumstances.

As long as we are on the subject here is one item that I just find hard to swallow. If I have a dog that bites someone because they came in his yard while no one was at home or they were throwing rocks and poking him with sticks and he bites them, then maybe he should be put down. If I have a dog that for no reason just goes crazy and bites people then you would think it would be a good idea to put him to sleep right. So how come in our system of justice it is a defense to plead "Oh I'm sorry I'm just crazy and didn't know what I was doing"?
