Are there any gay men active in AH?

I'm not asking for info that's not available already in a bio. I just realized today that I'm aware of all kinds of identifications and orientations, but I can't think of a gay man since KeithD left us. Just curious.

I'm a bisexual preop transgender woman. I guess it depends who you ask as to which box to check. :)

If I could ambush you with an unsolicited question: Does this phrasing imply that you intend to have the surgery?

That's how I've exclusively heard the term in medical contexts: you're only pre-op in the context of a particular surgery that you intend to have, usually quite imminently.

But I feel like sometimes I hear trans people say this in ways where the more likely explanation is they're just saying they haven't had any surgery yet, without any comment on whether they will have surgery. I've never wanted to ask in person because I could never figure out a way to do it without sounding like I was fishing for their specific plans.

No worries if you're not up for this today.

I'm bisexual. I conceptualize myself as gay more often than not, though, in practice, I'm much more selective about men than any other gender.

Bi tgirl here too, but with a bigger preference for girls than guys. I checked the Cool Hat box though.

In zoom meetings at work one of our Information and Technology Services guys puts (IT/S) at the end of his zoom name, I'm pretty sure it's meant to be his department but my brain can only ever see it as his pronouns 🤣

If we remove the forward slash before the S, you'd get the Spanish acronym for STI, which is even more unfortunate.

Hello! I’m a gay man and somewhat active here

Hi! Is it your sense that you're sort of alone? Or are there others that I just haven't noticed?
Yup very much so. There are people who write gay male content, but they’re not gay men themselves AFAIK. Have made a few threads before asking similar things and never got any replies

All of my bi experiences have been with a male/female couple or a crossdresser. I've also dated transwomen. So that doesn't mean I'm opposed to having a one on one situation with a man, I just don't see it happening. I'm far more attracted to femininity.

I thought he had a wife and was bisexual. His stories were often based on experience - so he said, and I have no reason not to believe it.
Yes, he revealed both over the course of time. His content is self-evident of his inclinations, I'd have thought.

I find this thread amusing. I was waiting to see where the OP, AGI was going to go with the question beyond curiosity.
I figured the second question would be how that influences the types of stories written. I have read stories from many of the authors here, but offhand I could not tell you which writes what.
I rarely read romance, whether straight, lesbian, or gay. Bisexual activity, though plays a large part in many of my own stories. I have a lesbian domination story that I put on hold.

My thinking too. Some of literature’s finest authors are/were gay and….? And what?

You know, you have to wonder about that. Not so sure about all of literature but maybe way back when like in bygone days. that may just be that a significant enough number of imaginative gays decided to write than enter a work force that might be non-receptive. Not to say a gay person is anymore imaginative but some might have elected the career. Same as acting. It seems there are more gays that straight actors, or is that just publicity? It could be gravitation to a career where they might express themselves. It would take some serious psychological studies to tell.

My recollection is that he self-described as bi (married with children, not that that's conclusive), although his writing here concentrated on male-male encounters.

I'm an openly gay woman, married to an openly gay woman. And while I believe there are gay writers here, of the male variety, I'm not sure as many would admit it as are here.
