Are stories with drug refs rejected?

I recently had a very good story rejected on Literotica.com. There was no reason given in the email, but reference was made to things like spelling, paragraphs, etc. But my story was well written, spelling and grammar excellent although in a druggie vernacular. But an integral part of the story was that the main character was visiting a guy who had a cocain connection, and himself sucked up a couple of lines now and then. Lit.com won't answer my inquiries on specifically why the story was rejected, and this is all I can figure out. Anyone else have any insight into the site's policy on this?

I don't think it was rejected for the drug connection, I think it was rejected because of spelling, grammar, and formatting, just as the rejection notice said.

That might mean that your pargraph breaks didn't translate into HTML according to the script's parameters for converting text to HTML.

Laurel and Manu have been on the road for the last few weeks and only connecting via dial-up long enough to put put out the worst of the fires and post enough new stories to let people know the site hasn't crashed.

Laurel probably has about 2,000 e-mails in her inbox waiting for her to get home -- it might take a while to get to your questions.

Without seeing your story, I can't tell you for sure what caused it to be rejected and I have no official status with this site, so my comments are merely conjecture based on Laurel's few public comments about why stories are rejected.

strange rejection?

One time I had a similar problem - A story was rejected for a reason I didn't believe to be valid (underage sex when no one was underage) I re-submitted it with a note in the "notes" section that said that the characters weren't underage. You might try just resubmitting it if you sincerely believe nothing else could be wrong with it.

Two of my stories feature characters getting high as hell. In one they smoke hash out of a hookah pipe. I don't think drug references are a no no.

Thanks all!!

Thanks to all who posted replies and sent emails. My story actually used the forbidden word, "cocain." Following one suggestion, I eliminated that word, using work-around or "code" words instead. Another suggested that I add in the "notes" box that all characters were adults (although from the content of the story that should have been obvious). Then I resubmitted, and so far no rejection ... we'll see. The great help was appreciated. No big deal to get a story rejected, one just wonders why in the Hell, right?

Even though you've already re-submitted it now...

One thing you may want to check, think about, remember... Look at how WH wrote his post. Even though most of us are used to hitting the "TAB" button at the beginning of our paragraphs, and not hitting the "Enter/Return" twice before starting a new paragraph, that is how it needs to be done at Lit to be recognized as a new paragraph.

Sometimes it can take a while to get used to. I see posts all the time that look "jumbled together", but if you were to quote them, you will see they attempted to use their "TAB" when writing their post.

HEY! My story made it this time

OK, just discovered that my repost made it to the "new stories" list so fast it should have made my head swim -- one working day. I've a notion that Wierd Harold nailed it when he suggested my original submission file may have gotten corrupted (like me!) out there in cyberspace before Lit.com got it. Whatever, it's there as Unethical Behavior at

http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=59363

and it's a fun read.

Another one submitted the same morning made it, too. I gues I got lucky, what? its A Bellboy's Delight at

http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=59299

another story just plain for f----ing fun!

Thanks again, all. Now I gotta get busy reading today's new stories and day-dreamin' about all the sexy ladies on here!

Kudos to Laurel

Thanks for the note, Laurel. I gotta tell you, you and Manu and your elves must be one busy bunch with so many submissions and BB comments happening these days.

As a Web page designer and maintenance dude myself, I know what it takes to run a simple site -- and L.c ain't simple by any def.

Anyway, I read those tidbits you refer to, and couldn't find anything that seemed to apply in any way to the story I'd submitted. Wierd Harold's suggestion finally seemed to me to be a reasonable one.

I'm glad to finally get it on, so to speak, and seem now to be in a writing mood again so probably there'll be more from Tinman.

And you DO have a great site. I've probably gotten more enjoyment out of reading stories there than any other single habit I've ever had ... well, almost, anyway. Cheers, Mistress.
