Can anyone tell me if links within posted stories at Literotica are allowed?

I'm editing an excerpt from a longer piece I've co-written with a friend in the SRP Forum. I'd like to say something like, "For the extended version of this story, please visit >>insert link<<"

Has anyone ever seen this done before at Lit?

I'm not positive Mckenna, but I don't think they are. I seem to remember someone being upset his story was rejected because it had a link in it, even though the link was to a made up website.

You might Pm Wh or Og. they would probably know for sure.

I think you can use a link that links back to something at Lit (have done this for Chain stories), but I don't think you can link to any other site (or at least, I don't think you are supposed to).

Thanks Crim and Colly, I'll keep researching. I hoped since the link would be an internal (within Literotica) link, it might be allowed.

Og doesn't know. Despite your confidence in me, I don't know everything. I don't know much about how Lit works and for techie questions I have to ask my sister-in-law who DOES know everything (or can find out because she runs a university's system).

Yes, it's possible to include internal links. I do it all the time.

Here are a few examples:
- The Literotica Olympics: Day 24 (link to a forum thread)
- Sonnet Sluts (link to a forum thread + link to another poem)
- Insomnia: redux (link to another person's member page + link to another poem)

Just use regular html code in the body of the story, using the regular submission form:
<a href="http://www.literotica.com/...><b>link</b></a>

;)

This is apparently a change in policy becuse Laurel used to remove ALL HTML from stories except italics, bold and underline highlighting.

I would suggest that anyone wishing to include links or any HTML code in their stories make a note of the link in the comments section of the submission form.

I've been doing it profusely for two and a half years, so I'm pretty sure there wasn't any change in policy, and never had a single link removed, and I have used other HTML codes - just nothing that would compromise Lit's layout scheme: no tables, no changing colours, fonts or size (except sub- or superscript)

And yes, I confirmed it all with Laurel, so it's not a case of being on an incredibly long lucky streak. :D

At a guess I'd say that links outside Lit wouldn't be allowed, because of the free advertising. (which may be why all links were stripped) I think I read that in a thread somewhere. Links to other Lit pages I don't know about.

All I can say is that I had a story with an external link that got rejected. I removed the link and it got accepted. There is some kind of warning, somewhere, that no links are allowed in posted stories and that they should be reported.

If you go to the Submission Guidelines and look down the list you will find:

9. No HTML links or web addresses are allowed within stories.

If writers are allowed to do this, then IMHO the guidelines should be changed.

I've a FICTIONAL address in my latest submission. Shit. I could remove it, but it really adds to the story.

Phooey.
