This struck me as odd: I recently submitted a chapter in an ongoing series, and today I checked to see if it had posted. It is still pending, but has had 137 views (and no, I haven't peeked since submitting it). In the past I've noticed as many as 5 views before approval, but this seemed unusual.

My curiosity is simply piqued--has anyone experienced something similar, or have a notion what this means?

Cheers,

V.

This does seem unusual. The six stories I have posted this month all had zero views listed until they posted. That has seemed to be the pattern lately. In the past, a story has had as many as fifteen or so, which I thought was a lot, :( but 137 views on an unposted story seems to be ridiculous.

An Indication of Good Things to Come?

Perhaps Laurel and Manu can't get enough of what you've written and are rereading it every 30 minutes or so and fucking like crazed rabbits each time.

It wouldn't by chance be a Mind Control story, now would it? ;)

Sounds like a dripping wet "E" might be in your future. Keep your legs crossed...

Well, after 138 views (that I saw) the chapter has posted. No dripping wet 'E' (if only it had been a mind control story!), but thanks, Sin, for the exciting thought (not to mention that fun crazed rabbit image). And thanks, Boxlicker and M-Y-Erotica for responding with your approval experiences.

Pre approval strangeness

I also noticed that my story had over 100 views before it was approved.
I didn't notice straight away, but once I did I kept checking to see if the number ever rose, and it didn't.

I had thought that perhaps it was just a random number, but now it seems not?

Weird!

you can find the answer to that here.

Manu posted that they are doing some work on how the story pages or set up and that would cause the views to increase.

That's nice to know, I had one read 77 times before posting. Is this also the reason that it seems to take so long suddenly to post?

Aha, mystery solved! Thank you.

How about all the views AFTER a story is rejected? It had a handful of views, was rejected, (despite my explanation of the story). But I was good and started seeking out an editor (still looking after a week of no replies) Then the number of views jumped to 62, now after all this time being listed as rejected, it lists 66 views!
