Is anyone experiencing a delay in publishing stories? I’ve had no movement in mine since submitting 9/24

No delays here, no. Five contest entries posted the next day and one regular entry posted in two days since 9/24. Right on the usual schedule.

I had a piece knocked back last week (for being too short) within 24 hours, the lengthened version (it's now 830 words) went live 24 hours after I submitted it. So no delay - but, it was very short.

If this is your first piece, the delay is getting to the long end of "typical" - but are you sure it's not still a Draft? It should show as Pending.

The last story I entered for the summer contest took almost four days to be approved. Normally, its somewhere around two days, so I'm thinking things have slowed down a little, too.

My latest story took 6 days, while the average for my last 10 stories has probably been around 2-3 days.

Haven't published since my Halloween story. This one sat in the pending for what is pretty average for me these days.

I submitted my last story on October 8th, which was a Saturday, so I expected a delay of a few days due to that fact. It is scheduled to be published on October 13th. That works out to be about normal from my experience.

Mine are still going up in a day or two. Perhaps it depends on how you submit. Just a thought. I copy and paste from Word.

Figured I'd bump this one instead of starting my own.

Have a new story that's been sitting in Pending for over a week now.

Reached out to the Admins, no response.

Yet I'm seeing plenty of other people's stories posted.

Wondering what to do at this point.

I'm having no more delays since the simultaneous contests ended.

Give Laurel some time.

She typically gets around to posting it or getting in touch with you.

I'm doing my best to be patient. And I've been very polite in my messages.

I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same problem, because if not I worry my story might be stuck in limbo or something.

I understand how you can lose your patience.
I lost my cool with Laurel on my very first story, but she was very nice and polite about it.
Try going back in messages and see if you missed the reason it isn't getting posted.
I know that she gets really busy when any contest comes around, because she's doing those stories and the normal stories.
I hope you're able to get everything figured out.

I'm not like, ANGRY impatient, just EXCITED impatient lol.

It's a story I worked months on, and I'm anxious to get it out there.

I've been monitoring my DMs, no reply, and I'm not going to keep pestering her every day.

Maybe it just got buried somehow.

I'll give it a few more days I guess.

Sometimes resubmitting it can jump start the queue, and adding a note that it's seen a long delay, might get it through quicker.

My last 750 word part went into a hole (my fault), I PMd Laurel, she replied overnight, I fixed my own glitch, and it went live 24 hours later. I then thanked her in the PM conversation, and she took the time to reply, thanking me for the stories, which was a nice touch.

Drop her a line if it isn't up by Friday.
Then drop her something every few days afterwards.

I originally submitted the story on Saturday 3/11.

It sat for several days.

Messaged Laurel Thursday 3/16. No reply.

Messaged her again Saturday 3/18. No reply.

Sunday morning, 3/19, I resubmitted it after it was suggested to me that maybe there was a glitch in my original submission.

As of today, 3/21, no change in status, no reply from Admin.

I'm kinda lost as to what else to do.

Yep, my poems have been in limbo since Feb 28, so I feel you. Then again, poems seem to be the last priority, right down there with illustrated work - so I think this is normal. I just keep submitting more stuff, then I think all of them will probably be published in one go. Here’s to hoping it’ll be published soon 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

What is a reasonable - dare I say normal - lag time between submittal and response?

Alright, I'm a geek who can't switch off the engineer brain and I'm looking at my "Works" page.

It shows 1 pending story, but at the bottom of the page there is a message:

"
Looks like you don’t have any Pending Stories on Literotica yet. If you’d like to start a new story now, click here!"

My engineer brain can't help wondering if this is a symptom or otherwise related to delays.

For those of you who say you've failed to connect with Laurel/admin messages, did you do that through the "conversation" route here? That appears to be the only message system she is responding to. No, that's not good, but that appears to be reality.

I have heard from Laurel today on my issue.

As others have pointed out, there's a lot going on with contests etc.

Patience is a virtue. Be kind, and give her time.

The page can get bogged down at various times through the day. If should show correctly if you reload the page or wait a while to reload.

IME, if it hangs on the box showing if what is loading, then it's best to check again later.
