Apparently my son can translate French

He was flipping channels and he stopped on the French channel because there is a kids' show on. I laughed and told him it was French, he said that was okay.
Before long he was getting all excited, shouting out translations for words the characters were saying. Pretty good for five, huh?

He's a prodigy.

Take him to a race track and really challenge his bright young profit potential.

Realistically, that's pretty normal for a five year old -- that's about the time most kids are best at learning languages. The trick is getting them interested in learning them. You are rightfully proud of him.

Dunno, I go to Paris fairly often, I think French is a lot more useful to me than Latin...

Lol, I took French in high school, and the only use I have ever gotten out of it is reading street signs in Canada, lol!

Maybe German. He can invade somebody when he is old enough to grow a mustache.

Yeah, he's always asking me how to say things in Spanish, and he is pretty good with sign language, too. Now we just have to keep him interested.

Sign language too? That's so cool. When i studied child development, i read that kids around this age are more receptive to learing multiple laguages. My nephew lives in a home where English, Spanish and Arabic are spoken. He has been fluent since about 6 or 7. It's kindy freaky, lol. I wish i could do that!
