Apollo 1961 - 1972

Im Schatten des Mondes, der Raketenstart

Einer der Kommentare:

the sequence reflects everything. the music reminds me of the 19th century pioneers heading west, exploring the unknown. the beauty, perfection of this rocket. The rocket sums up what we all are. I can watch this scene 100 times and it will lose nothing of awe that lies behind its pictures. Greetings from Germany.

You're very welcome... this was the high-water mark of human civilization.

That this could be done with 1960's technology is simply astounding.

oh really? :)
I love all of your "spamming"youtube link postings ;)
and now i take a look at your links in KKK.:rose:

I am the ultimate "spammer" on Lit.

Most spammers' posts are removed within a day. I have survived all of that for ten years, and managed to make my title "GB Moderator," for what that's worth.

;)

Was ist KKK? I see references to this, but in the US, KKK means Ku Klux Klan, which is a racist organization.

Ah! Now it becomes clear.

That's so funny...!

But seriously, KKK in America means just one thing. Like NSDAP means one thing.

Maybe "Kaffeeklatsch" is enough?

Yeah, it was my fault, when i opened the KKK, i didn´t
think about these three letters, days later, i saw, what
could be happen, so since these times it only called the
KK = Kaffeeklatsch, or K&KK = Kaffeklatsch & Klönsnack Klub.

"KKC" ("C" für "Club") wäre eleganter gewesen.
Vielleicht lässt sich das noch ändern?

No worries.

I'm American: we have very thick skin, here.

As a matter of fact, we call each other names that probably would be illegal in many countries!

I was mostly concerned that you wouldn't project something you didn't want to say.

That's fine.

It's not a big deal to avoid KKK.

KK, K&KK, KKC, or just Kaffeeklatsch.

And, seriously, it's not that KKK is forbidden or anything like that. It's just that, here, KKK has an association with an unpleasant concept. Not something to be scared of, but more along the lines of a subject one would not bring up at a dinner party.

However, were the subject Freedom of Speech, then it might be relevant.

You see, the US is a country where the Nazi Party is allowed to have a parade down the main street of a mostly Jewish town, waving swastika flags and singing songs. And there is a very good reason why this sort of thing is allowed.

In brief, to restrict speech, any speech, is to lend credibility to it.

If it has no validity, then why restrict it?

Let the people hear all sides, and they will always choose rightly.

On January 27, 1967, the first fatalities in the US space program occurred.

After 7 successful Mercury flights, and 12 successful Gemini flights, during a test for Apollo 1, the first crew of the first flight of the program were incinerated by a fire in their capsule.

It brought the whole program to a halt for about a year.
