when it all ended Alex had been in prison, finally caught but not yet convicted. He'd hunted down the bastards who'd killed his family and put them to a messy end. In doing the searching he'd compromised his morals, turned to the men he'd hunted and the detatchment he'd used now worked to his advantage.

The first to take a gun from the guards, the first to use it. He'd attracted the group there and then,a bunch of cold killers who'd do as he ordered. They moved back into the city and become the power there, taken the old army barracks, abandoned at the start of it all, but secure and proof to most attacks now possible by most normal people - even proof from the remaining cops.

He'd spread far and wide, letting it known that his protection was essential and the price suitable. They watched the city - what remained and Alex sent out his enforcers to survey the situation.

He watched from the central tower as the block fell,simply nodding to a group of men - sending them out to forage.....
 
Hours after the collapaw she heard voices. WDesperate, she cried out. It was weak but loud enough to hear. "Hey, I found something." she felt someone push the heavy rubble apart and pull her out. He picked her up and carried her to the others. "We don't have time for this. Just leave her."

"Alex said he wanted a girl to keep him company. I say we bring her." they agreed and they walked back to the tower where Alex kept his base. "Sir, we have something that might interest you."

Anna was to weak to move. She hadn't eaten in days and the pain made iteven worse. She was laid on a couch and a blanket was put over her

they'd brought back a dirty, skinny thing. He leaned down and place a hand at her chin, checking her,then turned to the men "that all you got?" he paced to the nearest and hissed "I can't fucking eat that can I? Can't feed any of you lot? Not even worth putting to work in the hotel for fucks sake. Who'd pay to be with her?" he clenched a fist and turned pacing, "get out!" he roared, they scattered, fearing worse.

as the door slammed,he sat beside her, watching her, waiting.....
 
Anna trembled on the couch listening to him yell. She fliched as he mentioned turning her into a prostitute. She lay there frightened wondering what would haopen to her. The door slammed and she felt Alex sit next to her. She looked up at him speaking quietly. "Are you going to kill me?"
 
he smiled "why would I do that?"

he stood and walked to a table. Taking a jug he poured a mug of clean water and offered it to her. "I'm Alex, I could look after you, but I could be bad." he smiled and offered her the mug
 
Anna eyed him suspiciously; she didn't trust him. She sipped the water shivering a little. She winced a little when she moved. She kept her eyes lowered feeling his eyes upon her.
 
he smiled "I bet you'd love a bath" and stood, walking over to pour himself a drink.

"so where are you from, I've not noticed you before? My boys must have thought you'd be useful here......." he paused "you'll have to excuse them, they aren't civilised" he sneered and sat on a chair facing her
 
"I bet you'd love a bath" she watched him as he poured his drink. It had been days since shed reached a river she could bathe in; years since shed had a real bath.

"so where are you from, I've not noticed you before? My boys must have thought you'd be useful here....... you'll have to excuse them, they aren't civilized."

She looked away as he sneered at Hera tear rolling down her cheek. She felt trapped and corned in that stare. Her cheeks were pink from blushing. "Please don't make me do any of that... Stuff." she said shyly
 
he smiled "what stuff? I've not asked you to do anything?", he sat back, and sipped his drink

"do you think I'd put you to work? Rape you? Kill you?" his face darkened "I could, but you could also talk to me, be social, make an effort" he smiled again
 
Anna blushed again and looked away. She'd seen what happened to girls who came into this place. Shed seen several virgins go in and become prostitutes in a week. But he wanted her to make conversation with him? This was going to be difficult because she was so shy. She didn't even know where to start. "I... I'm Anna."
 
he smiled "nice to meet you Anna" he quickly rushed to her, hand out in a gesture of friendship "I'm Alex" he stated "and I'm a lot nicer than you think"

he'd had several girls in before, most had fought and been aggressive. He'd ordered them back out of the compound - only to find them working the hotel. He'd killed two men for doing that, but understood the ned for entertainment. The girls were sought as company - he felt a ned to replace his lost family, to start again....
 
Anna took his hand smiling up at him. "It's nice to meet you." She was still nervous about him, but her attitude towards him was starting to soften. She stood but the pain forced her to sit back down again. She pulled her jacket around herself shivering
 
he saw her wince "you're hurt?" he flashed the look of concern "did they....?" rage flicked over his face
 
"No," she said quickly. She saw the look on his face. Was it anger that someone might've touched her? "I was in a building and it collapsed on top of me. They pulled me out of the rubble. I'm just a little sore, thats all."
 
He sat, nodding. "well, you'll heal up here - my guest. I want to find out everything about you....." he looked at her, she'd make a fine 'consort', a companion, a distraction......
 
Anna smiled up at him. "Thank you," she said quietly drinking some more water. She was curious about why he wanted to get to know her. Why would he want that? She wondered. She pulled the blanket closer shivering
 
he smiled and walked round the room "so tell me, where have you come from, who were you with?" knowing such things would be useful to him and his organisation.....
 
"I've been on my own for several years. I just go from city to cityto get food and supplies. Usually I stay in the country for a week before getting more. I came here yesterday."
