Aphrodisiacs?

I've read quite a few articles about aphrodisiacs, and the 'experts' all seem to conclude that there is no substitute for being happy, healthy, and in a good relationship.

In other words, simply taking a substance will have no effect unless you are in the right shape physically and mentally - and anything that works for you is merely enhancing what is already there - meaning no drug alone can stimulate arousal.

Do you beg to differ? Have you taken something that has gotten you randy as hell?! Or is it all in the mind?!

even when im not horney there are certain things that will get me going.

1) porn - works every time. if your having a bad day watch some porn.
2)a skimpy lingerie - very sexy and sends a good message
3)oral sex - nothing like having your dick sucked when its limp till you explode. especially if its by surprise.

Merriam-Webster Online's first definition for 'aphrodisiac' is:

"1 : an agent (as a food or drug) that arouses or is held to arouse sexual desire"

On that definition I agree with the professionals. A substance either works not at all or you only think it has an effect. After all, sexual arousal is all in your head anyway.

I believe that's the definition most people mean when they use the word.

The second definition:

"2 : something that excites"

That would include lots of things, especially everything madmanmike just mentioned.

I think that if someone really believes that a substance has aphrodisiacal qualities, it may create a placebo effect. If a person can place the responsibility on the substance, and not themselves, it may lower their inhibitions.
