Anyone used Autocrit? Thoughts/opinions?

So is there a better alternative to Grammarly? At this time, I'd have some trouble affording anything that is not a free version of a program, but at least I'd like to know what is best.
I tried Autocrit and wasn't impressed. And, as other mentioned, got spammed to death by them after trying the free trial.

For fiction writing, the best grammar checker is ProWritingAid. It has specific settings for fiction that nothing else has. I've used it for years. It's frequently updated and keeps getting better. I used to buy the annual subscription (cheaper than Grammarly, which is geared for business writing) but last fall went ahead and paid for a lifetime subscription for not a lot more.

Most of the grammar checkers have a free offering, with limits on how many words you can check at a time. Other that ProWritingAid, I've found Scribens and Hemingway App useful. There's also LanguageTool which is kinda "meh" but has plugins for browsers, LibreOffice and others. It's entirely free with no limit on words checked at a time when used as a plugin.

Thanks, I'll look into these. The problem is that I'm really tight on cash right now and I have to be careful about buying a monthly subscription for anything. Grammarly's free version has no limits of any kind. If LanguageTool is basically of the same quality - then I might try it and make a comparison anyway.
