I was doing well till Thanksgiving and the stretch through Christmas. If anyone else has packed on a few more than they want, maybe we can have a support thread. After Christmas of course.

I'll be doing the South Beach Diet. I may even need to detox again. Similar to the Atkins, but you don't count carbs, you can have all the good carbs you want. Turkey bacon (sounds gross, but I love it now) eggs and v-8 for breakfast usually. I eat a lot of chicken/turkey/fish with either green beans or broccoli.
 
I'm cutting the carbs by half... upping the salads and non heavy foods, NO fast food, no eating past 7pm ... making sure i have fruit and juice or cereal in the mornings, and going to do some areobics and activity of sorts ... just going back to normal regiment.

Sort of a vegitarian diet with some reaaally nice steak dinners thrown in there when I need it, or a well prepared chicken etc...

soups and grapefruit espically good.

Lots and Lots of water.

Well after Christmas im going to start a military Diet Three miles a granola bar beteewn the meals . And exer size to start the day at 5o'clock

well, if we do it as more of a support group then people can start any time they want. A contest wouldn't really be fair cause some of us will have less to lose. What do you think? Pick a day for weekly weigh ins perhaps?

I just don't want to really, but want to really... ya know... lol. Just trying to push the date to start at.
 
LOL....I opted to start weeks ago but someone here also wanted to wait until after Christmas. I will be returning to my highly successful Modifast which not only helps weight loss but agrees with my whole system far more than conventional food. It's the first three days that are the killer, then after that the cravings disappear. Think I have had a head start this week though as my exercise has been more than I think I have had in the whole last six months. Sort of started walking 4 miles a day, 4 to 5 days/week about a monthe ago, mostly because i'm losing strength in my legs and my body... but now... i want to really tone, so i'm praying and hoping someone in my family gets me some weights for here at home. Anyway... could stand to lose about.... well, i'll let ya know when i lose it (lol). Count me in!! And I'll definitely pose nude when the goal is reached.

no, you don't to tell, but on some diet boards lots of people do starting weight, current weight, and goal weight in their sig line.

I'm in... so long as someone can do conversions between pounds and kilogrammes!

So far I've lost just over 10kg (in the last three months) -- only another 40kg to go. *sigh* Will take me over a year, but already my migraines are fewer and easier to cope with. So worth doing if for no other reason!

Long term though, losing weight will have it's own health benefits.

anyone else doing this under doctor's orders? no, i'm not morbidly obese but do have high blood pressure and cholestral, so doc says change my diet and excercise more. lol, like i was doing anything more than moving my bowl of munchies out of the way of my mouse. LMAO. yeah, kicking the carbs has been worse than quitting smoking. had a real thing going for dry cereal. no more! i will resist sugar saturated, delightfully crunchy tidbits to pop into my mouth without hesitation or thought...oh shit..gotta stop thinking. carbs bad carbs bad carbs good no no no carbs bad...you know you gotta it bad when ya fantasize about strapping captain crunch down for some...... LMAO.:kiss:

my diet secret

easy for me... work nights, consume a lot of coffee and red bull ( the caffeine increases metabolism and acts as an appetite suppressant)) drink at least 3 litres of water a day, smoke at least 20 cigs a day, take a good multivite ( acts as a guilt suppressant over your poor diet),and chocolate when you feel low in sugar.(& cos it tastes good) Oh yeah I eat a real meal once every two days, toast and cereal in between times. Ah shit, who wants to live forever anyway? and I walk my dogs 3-4 times a week, for their health, not mine.
 
The nightshift nurses diet

Ah landcruisergirl... i've been on that diet for about 6 years now, and it's finally catching up to me... have to walk 4 miles/day now (for me, not my dog), and eat like i'm supposed to (forget the multivitamin). Nightshift just screws with the biorhythms something awful (but i'd not change it for anything). Good luck to us all!
