What side effects did you experience? How soon afterwards did you take it? What kind did you use? Has anyone taken a large dose of their birth control pill without first seeking the advice of a doctor?

I've taken a morning after pill once.

I had my sexual intercourse at night and take the pill the next morning. The next day (or even that day, thats not clear) my period started. For a couple of days I feel dizzy and nauseated... but apart from that it went fine. It is a really good way to prevent pregency but that must not be your only sources of contraception. I dont think taking a large amount of birth control pill would have the same effect as the morning after pill.

Just try those links type in google.com you'll find a tons of infomation:

You Have Three Days To Get To Your Doctor Fer The Perscription. Some Pharmasists Will Give Them To You Over The Counter, But It's Easier To Just Go To Your Doctor Or The Hassle Free Clinic. You Should Not Have An Adverse Reaction, Cept Fer Getting Your Moontime:D

Your Doctor Will Give You A Perscription And You'll Have To Pay For Yer Handy Dandy Drug, But More Than Likley They'll Throw The Pills At You For Free Or Close To It At The Hassle Free!

Next Time Sweet Cheeks....Use A Condom:D

Yeah, I took one of those once but it didn't help.

The Orioles still lost the World Series. :(

(Well, more seriously, never take anything without the advice of your doctor! What are you, kidding me??

And on a philisophical note, I'd be very concerned about myself if I had to take some sort of pill for any activity in which I had partaken the night before.)

Being a woman isn't always as easy as we make it look, Jimmie. Sometimes we find ourselves in precarious situations that men would never be able to understand. Never be able to understand, therefore a comment or judgment is not necessary.

You knew I or someone would say something.

Anyways, yes, I've taken it once and I didn't have side effects.

I do agree with JMJ that you should at least talk to your doctor or pharmacist for more answers...it's pretty straightforward and user friendly.

Good luck to you.

Did you plan on having two children out of wedlock? You seem like the last person that should be judgemental about others sexual mistakes.

Sometimes condoms break. It happens. I read on other websites where it gives you the names of birth control pills to use for the morning after pill. It's not a different pill. You take 2 to 6 of a regular birth control pill, then another dose 12 hours later. That is why I was wondering if someone did it without first asking the doctor.

Do You Still HAve The Little Book That Came With Your Pill Pack?

It's Been A LONG Time Since I Took The Pill, But I Remember Reading The Book And It Saying Something Bout Forgetting To Take Them And The Emergency Method Of Taking Them For An Accident....

The Morning After Pill Is Quite Like The BCP.
Call Your Doctor Or The Hassle Free. They Can Tell You What The Deal Is For You To Do It Safetly:D

It is the same thing, but you do need to consult an MD or pharmacist for the right dosage.

I'm sure you already know this...again, good luck, it's not as harrowing as some would like you to believe.

As a male, I've been pretty goddamned grateful for those little morning after pills on at least one occasion.

Ever hear of a broken rubber?

I had a friend tell me about a broken diaphram. But I think he was just bragging.

Either way, you are correct, accidents do happen.

Maybe you should think about that before you hop in the sack with someone?

People like to have for reasons other than reproduction, Tyrael. Precautions are not a guarantee, and sometimes follow-up methods are needed. I've had a couple of condoms break on me, too. Well, in me, actually.

You'd think that, but you'd be wrong. I'm not at all making a judgement. It's your life. Life it like you want.

As I said, I'd be concerned about myself if I did it. It doesn't mean that you have to be. I personally don't care if you are. But were it me, I would be.

However, since you brought it up, my ex and I conducted our sexual lives in a committed monogamous relationship with the full understanding that a child could result from our activity. We were rather overjoyed to have our children, since there was a distinct possibility due to health reasons, that she might not be able to have children. That they were born out of wedlock really isn't here or there. That we conducted ourselves responsibly, and still continue to do so with them is more important.

But if that seems judgemental, that's fine. I don't mind. :)

(Sorry, alex, but I also disagree with you. But we'll tackle that one later).

The best advice, though, really is to be to consult your doctor ASAP about it. He or She knows what's medically best for you and can make sure you get the right thing.

Edited to keep the topic on topic. :)

Ok, I know people don't have sex just to create little tykes. I can see your point.

I put it back to appease Pyper :)

Originally it was :

There are other means of sexual pleasure other than intercourse.

Let's use that imagination!

Do we actually have an advocate of abstinence on this board?!

There are other reasons for taking the Morning After Pill than a broken condom or failed contraception.

I was just totally irresponsible; I made an err in judgment.

I didn't do it thinking, "Ooh, I have this great option tomorrow morning." Not at all, there's a healthy amount of freaking out that goes along with an assinine mistake, but it's MY assinine mistake.

Jimmie, we've gone round and round about this before, and I still so adamantly disagree with most you have to say on the subject that my fingers are aching right now.

It's simply not your place to decide.

I have an imagination. I also like intercourse. You can stick with alternate methods of pleasure, but I prefer the entire smorgasbord, including being stuffed with a dick when the mood hits.

God you make me hot.

Taking a large amount of birth controll pills is a way to do it BUT if it fails it will cause serious birth defects to the child.

That's really vague advice and could be harmful, though I'm sure MA knows that already.

She needs to consult a professional.
