Or whatever thay speak in Slovenia. ;)

Doing a study on marketing discourses in different cultures, and I have this text on a billboard, that I need to have translated.

I can see that it talks about the icecream bar, about caramels and nuts, but what else? Some catchy slogan at the top?

Anyone? I know there have been some folks from there here before, but I'm not sure if they're around these days.

This reminds me - where did that bolshie reprobate Summer Morning ever get off to? He could take care of this. :rose:

I'm not sure you noticed, Liar, but that thing sticking out of the bikini bottom is definaly gay.

You see it sticking out, and gay. We see it sticking In, and definitely NOT gay ;)

It's clearly transgender because it's sticking out, and there are breasts. *nods* The reason it's sticking out is because the "top' is where you start eating it and the bitten part is poking out, not in. ;)

For the record, things sticking in, or out, of there are not for taking bites off.

Ah yep. But I dunno how to page her outside of here.

Got the answer now via PM. Thanks, dude. And once again, Lit comes through.

So, what does it say?

Zagrizi…ako se usudiš = Bite…if you dare.

And the more informative:

Novi Magnum caramel & nuts = New Magnum caramel & nuts
Sladoled s vanilijom i karamelom = Ice-cream with vanilla and caramel

Yeah, that's right, SummerMorning is a Slovene. A Commie, too, but we can forgive him for that, since he's cool. :D

Out of the half dozen or so languages that my dad spoke he said Serbo-croation was probably the most difficult to learn.
I wouldn't know, I'm still having problems with English.

I got here late. I can't believe nobody made something up. It was begging for comedy! :p

Glad you got it translated though - and let us know. :)

Yeah, yeah. I'm half a year late with this. Bite me (if you dare).

The point is - that text's not Slovenian ... it might be Slovakian. Or just transcribed wrong.

Slo: "Ugrizni ... če si upaš" or "Zagrizi ... če si upaš" (note how I've politely bolded the differences ;))

There's a slight difference, the first is intransitive (sort of "Bite (into it ... and just that one bight, that's it, no more bites) ... if you dare") while the other one is transitive (so, more along the line of "Bite / put your back into it / go for it (i.e. show some persistence, keep biting) ... if you dare").

Lol...I'm Slovenian and used to be fluent.

Right, I believe that would be Spanish spoken bassackwards with every third vowel removed. Well, that's how I write...
