Here is another thing to think about. America has fought a major conflict every generation and yet each generation's cause seems to be a better one than the one proceeding it. My parents generation faught Vietnam because it had a noble but flawed vision of a democratic south east asia. Their parents faught to stop the axis powers, their parents faught "the war to end all wars". And now, why do we fight? A democratic Iraq (yeah right)? To really disarm Saddam Hussain (remember we sold many of his current weapons technology to him in the mid-1980's)? No...we fight so a president can get reelected and so his friends can make even more money on their oil. This is a shameful action, but I believe we must support our troops...because they are just following orders.Star of Penumbra said:America is 227 years old this year, and we've already had ten wars (the current one makes eleven). That means we've averaged one war every 20 years or so.
I don't really have a point. It's just something to consider.
