Hi all,
I'm a new writer here and my second story just got posted today. I'd really love feedback, personal or anonymous - personal is preferred.

My story today is called "Hotel Spycam" and is in the group sex catagory. My first story is in Lesbian Sex. It is called "At the Workshop".

Anyhow, outside of a shameless plug to attract readers, I'm wondering if anyone here knows how to publish these type stories in a paying site or even in print (yes old fashioned books) and get paid for doing it. I love writing erotica. I've tried sci-fi and a few other things. I've even been paid for some work, but if I could find an erotic site or publisher that would pay me to write the delicious juicy sexy stuff I love, then I'd be in heaven.

Now I have a real life job, earn good money and all that, so I'm not talking about becoming the John Grisham of porn, but it would be nice to pick up a couple bucks a month from writing "explicit romance" as I call my work.

So post or email me websites, publisher names, etc. I did send a story (lady getting spanked) to some publisher who promised me a hundred bucks and copies of the book (a collection of spanking stories). Needless to say, I never saw the money or the book.

But perhaps others have found real-life publishers who are willing to pay a bit of cash for good erotica.

Thanks to all and I hope this is not out of line on this website. I'm new here and may not know all the ropes. I sure do enjoy this place. I love writing sexy stuff (it gives me a thrill knowing strangers are getting a thrill from reading - or acting out my work :p )

I've had offers to buy my stories, but they seemed like a slap in the face to me. First of all most of the sites want to own the copyright. This way the can re-sale your story to other pay sites. You lose all claim to the story.

Secondly, by the time you factor in writing and editing, you would get paid a buck or so an hour. Your pay is in writing a story that people read/enjoy/get off to. Have fun with it!

Readers, this is why it is important to encourage authors you enjoy to continue their work.

Cheers!

good advice

Thanks Coutoure,
that is perhaps the best one can hope for... that others read and enjoy. I hope you all enjoy my work.

Making Money

I have made money in the past by writing some of those "Letters to Penthouse" but they get so many now that they no longer pay for them.

Try going to your local Borders or Barnes & Noble and buying some of the books in the erotic stories section. Send a query letter to some of the publishers there and see what they send back. Online publishing is still in it's infancy and most of the authors I've known have made nothing because the website manager tells them they aren't making anything off the URL!

Try to go with print publishing. Send stuff to all the erotic magazines out there. If it's good enough, they will eventually publish it. Keep sending it out to them. You'll get lots of rejections, but eventually, they may find something that is of interest to them, especially if the topic is currently "hot" or fits their theme for that month.

Keep writing!

Thanks Pyro

I've sort of already started that by checking out a few print mags. I'll get more into that as soon as I can. Right now RL is getting in the way.

I was going to say that!

Great suggestion, tigerjen! I like that magazine, too!

Lance, I'm glad you've developed your craft to the point that you are ready for editors. In terms of "getting paid", have you tried entering contests? Playgirl still pays out $100 for the "Fantasy of the Month", and $25 for runner-ups. (I know it's not a lot of cash, but it is a start!)

I'm going to go check out your stories, so I'll post again real soon. And good luck with getting paid AND published!

Not that good

I only have 2 stories posted here. A couple years ago, I had posted about a dozen on a newsgroup. Not a forum like this, but more like email group. Oh, not under my current psuedonym, so don't think of trying to find them. Anyhow, without making a long story longer, I'll just say that posting those stories caused me the greatest of headaches and grief.

Anyhow, that is behind me and I'm trying again with more discretion. I don't really think I'm all that good. I just like to write very graphic sensual detailed stories. That might not find a paying market. I don't know. I'll have to check it out when time and real life permit.

Thank you for the encouragement.
